Starting from today, One UI 9.0 Watch Beta 3 is now available for those who have already joined the beta program with the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch7 in the above countries mentioned.

This beta version of One UI 9.0 Watch is now available to fix some bugs and to incorporate general improvements across the whole operating system based on user feedback and internal evaluation, according to Alfatürk for the Galaxy Watch8 and to a Korean forum post of the second beta for the Galaxy Watch7.

One UI 9.0 Watch Beta 3 for the Galaxy Watch8 is available under build ZZI4, and Beta 2 for the Galaxy Watch7 is available under build ZZI4. It’s a beta release designed to bring the following changes:

Applied stabilization code for device operation
Fixed WatchFace AOD errors
Fixed AOD time data errors
Fixed errors in the navigation bar, compass, and weather app.

Un nuevo informe revela que Samsung se enfrenta a un obstáculo técnico crítico en la fabricación del procesador Exynos 2600, destinado a la serie Galaxy S26. Actualmente, el rendimiento de producción (yield rate) de este chip en el proceso de 2 nanómetros (SF2) se encuentra en apenas un 25%, una cifra que pone en duda la estrategia de procesadores de la compañía para 2026.

¿Qué significa el «25% de rendimiento»?

En la fabricación de semiconductores, el yield rate es el porcentaje de chips que salen de la oblea de silicio sin defectos y listos para ser usados.

El Problema: Un rendimiento del 25% significa que 75 de cada 100 chips fabricados son defectuosos y deben descartarse. Esto hace que el costo de producción por cada chip funcional sea extremadamente alto y dificulta alcanzar el volumen necesario para un lanzamiento global.
El Objetivo: Para que la producción en masa sea comercialmente viable y rentable, Samsung necesita elevar ese rendimiento hasta al menos el 60% o 70% antes de que comience el ensamblaje final de los teléfonos.

Consecuencias para el Galaxy S26

Este bajo rendimiento inicial genera un efecto dominó en las decisiones de Samsung:

Dependencia de Qualcomm: Si Samsung no logra mejorar la eficiencia de sus fábricas de 2nm a tiempo, se verá obligada a utilizar el Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 en el 100% de los modelos Galaxy S26 a nivel mundial.
Aumento de Precios: Como se mencionó en reportes previos, el chip de Qualcomm es significativamente más caro. Sin la competencia interna del Exynos para negociar precios, el costo del Galaxy S26 para el usuario final podría aumentar inevitablemente.
Presión en Samsung Foundry: Este chip es la «prueba de fuego» para la división de fundición de Samsung. Perder este contrato interno frente a TSMC (quien fabrica para Qualcomm y Apple) sería un golpe duro para su reputación tecnológica.

El Exynos 2600 de Samsung, Será el Primer Chip de Samsung con GPU Propia

Samsung está preparando un cambio histórico en su división de semiconductores. Según los últimos informes de SamMobile, el futuro procesador Exynos 2600 (destinado a la serie Galaxy S26) será el primero en integrar una GPU diseñada íntegramente por Samsung, marcando el fin de su colaboración con AMD para los gráficos móviles.

Exynos 2600: Independencia Gráfica Total

Desde el Exynos 2200, Samsung utilizó la arquitectura RDNA de AMD (Xclipse). Sin embargo, el Exynos 2600 busca un camino propio para optimizar mejor el hardware con el software de la casa (Fuente -Imagen Yonhap News).

Puntos Clave del Nuevo Chip

GPU «In-House»: Samsung ha desarrollado su propia arquitectura de procesamiento gráfico para reducir la dependencia de terceros y mejorar la eficiencia térmica, uno de los puntos débiles históricos de la línea Exynos.
Proceso de 2nm: Se rumorea que este será uno de los primeros chips comerciales fabricados con el avanzado proceso de 2 nanómetros (SF2) de Samsung Foundry, lo que promete un salto masivo en potencia y ahorro de batería.
Optimización para IA: La nueva GPU estará diseñada desde cero para acelerar las tareas de Galaxy AI, permitiendo un procesamiento de imágenes y video mucho más rápido directamente en el dispositivo.

¿Por qué abandonar AMD?

Aunque la colaboración con AMD trajo el Ray Tracing a los móviles, la integración no siempre fue tan eficiente como se esperaba en términos de consumo energético. Al diseñar su propia GPU, Samsung puede controlar cada aspecto del chip, buscando una sinergia similar a la que Apple logra con sus procesadores serie «A».

Dato curioso: Este movimiento coloca a Samsung en un grupo selecto de empresas (junto a Apple y Qualcomm) que diseñan tanto la CPU como la GPU de sus procesadores móviles de alto rendimiento.
