A research team including JSC has won the prestigious 🏆 Gordon Bell Prize for Climate Modelling. 🍃 The winning entry was a novel approach that allows the Earth system to be simulated with unprecedented spatial accuracy. To achieve this, the team used Europe's first⚡exascale supercomputer, #JUPITER, and the Swiss supercomputer Alps.

  21. #JUPITER ranks fourth in the Top500 list and is Europe's fastest supercomputer. This was announced at the #ISC25 in Hamburg today. The "newcomer" is also the most energy-efficient system in the top 5 of the list. JUPITER was developed by the #JSC and built at the Forschungszentrum Jülich over the past few months.   29. #FZJ und #JEN erwarten noch in diesem Jahr die Transportgenehmigung und wollen dann schnellstmöglich mit dem Abtransport nach #Ahaus beginnen.
    Ab 2024 sollen 152 Straßen-Transporte von #Jülich nach #Ahaus erfolgen. Dann wäre Jülich keinesfalls „atommüllfrei“, sondern weiterhin mit anderem #Atommüll aus dem stillgelegten #AVR belastet.
