@Pipponprops described this as "the bondage stage" and, not wrong. Little tip if you're making a duct-tape dummy, or patterning something; don't use black duct tape, it is nigh impossible to draw lines on :drgn_weary_sob: #fursuitMaking

I'm very happy how this sculpt turned out. Didn't know what to expect because I redid the muzzle several times and the cheek was last minute idea but it fits extremely well imo.
This is a from scratch sculpted head from foam. No 3d print except the eye blanks.
Happy fox. Very exhausted fox. Now the fur. I hope I can make it and have a bit time to relax before the con.

After a break yesterday for a friend's birthday party, today sees me in the garage using contact cement as suggested by my dear @Pipponprops. Attempt 2 in white, with medium density foam and contact cement, vs attempt 1 in blue with high density and hot glue. Shame contact cement needs a respirator, gloves, and lots of ventilation; but we cleared most of the garage recently so,,, why not use it.

Well, paws are on hold until more foam arrives, so amongst other todo-s tonight I drafted out a nice thicc tail.
11in at the base. owoWhich might need trimming back, at 34 inches around, that's _a lot_ of fabric. but. We'll see.

Well. That took a lot more effort than expected, I've run out of foam so I can't make the second one, and tbh I'm not happy with it 'cos it feels super fragile with all the stress on the glue joins :drgn_sigh:
I've some softer foam coming to try the mugiwara digi pattern again soon. Oh well, always learning~

Had to stay late at work, followed by Movie Night with friends so not a _lot_ of progress, but I do have some large footprints under the homunculus now.

I was beside myself last night. [Badum tish]
Got this hateful assless homunculus stuffed, on the rack, and cling filmed so I can reuse it. I was most of the way through covering it in blue painter tape before remembering I need the footpaws and thigh padding done first before patterning the legs, ughhhhh

The drawing tablet arrived early! I had a quick play with it and omg this ain't bad. I still need to learn more, like getting more detail in, the floating ref images I see everyone else using, hollowing it out for printing and doing Node Things that still scare me right now. But for a quick doodle of a croc head, I don't hate it.

Some progress yesterday; sewed the 3d printed claws (FuraceusFursonality) into the finger-tops of the hand-paws. Attaching to the back of the paw, then the undersides next.
This is the runnerrabbit pattern, which calls for thin fabric claws, so I'm not sure how these will sit when fully assembled... But let's see!

Cat druid progress report. Probably will be done sometime around end this year or later, I expect. The plan is to do long hair, elaborate airbrushed green patterns, fake leaves and twigs. It's gonna be a lot of work and I don't expect to make much more headway before EF. #cat #fursuitmaking

Lotsa progress the past week.
- I'm working on a wizard staff. I found a stick outside (after a storm) that I attached to my late dad's (gnarled branch) walking stick. It's Gandalf-level huge now c: I used foam clay and some sculpting to add fake twisting branches at the top, and added a 3d printed gem, which I cut open, and added some electronics to power an LED to light it up. Also painted it, for the most part.
- I started work on a kitty druid character. Mostly just printed the base, added the eyes and eye mesh, painted the nose, attached the hing and padded the inside some. It fits nicely.
- Started work on creating better ears for my bat. The shape isn't quite right. New foam ears I've got right now look much better in shape.
- Made a cardboard cat ear for the kitty druid... I don't think the shape is right. Gonna tweak it before I cut it out, and transfer it to foam for detailing.
- Painted a mesh and Transferred my old otter tongue to my new otter fursuit head, and messed around with the padding to ensure a much better fit, and with that also much improved (tho still shit) vision.
- Working on adding fans to the inside of the bat head. Ordered some fake fems to add to the staff, and ordered curly hair I'll be able to latch hook to a mesh for my otter head.Exciting stuffs. I'll post some pictures later in the process.
