CR1220 replaced in one of my old FrSky Taranis Q radios as it was complaining that the RTC battery was dead. Thankfully it’s just 4 screws, pop out the old one and pop in the new one. I’m slowly getting back into RC aircraft, and making sure I got all the radios updated and configured is really step one. Also moving from OpenTX, seems to be dead anyway, to EdgeTX and Express LRS. All this stuff is so freaking cool!

I'm really hard thinking about if I should quit the hobby in the long run.
Not because it's no fun.
but:
a) it got regulated to hell (places where I can fly legally are really rare now)
b) my hardware is somewhat out of date
I'd have to switch from #frsky and analog video to something new at some point in the future. That's like "replace ALL my gear" expensive.

One of the big reasons I'm bullish on the future of Mastodon as a platform is because it is open source. I've seen recently how an open source system can quickly go into an entrenched market and upend the status quo to the benefit of users.
It's time to learn about RC radio systems for drones and model airplanes!
