  1. You have about 2.5 hours to get in on Your Focus Matters this afternoon.

Wanting to change things? This is for you.
    Stuck? This is for you.
    Problems? This is for you.
    Confused? This is for you.
In pain? This is for you.

Your focus matters all the time.

When you pay attention to problems you can't do anything but solve problems. That keeps you stuck because then you start telling yourself the story about how you need to fix all the problems first. That doesn't work. You can't get there from there because the reality is that you probably aren't going to solve all the problems.

When you focus on being stuck, it makes you feel more stuck. Now you tell the story about being stuck. Guess what happens when you do that? You stop focusing on finding a way forward. You focus on feeling stuck instead. You can't get there from there.

When you focus on being confused, it makes you feel more confused. So now your mind wants to solve the problem with the confusion. Well guess what? That won't work either. You need to focus on what you know and move from there.

When you're in pain, the mind tells the story of pain. This makes you want to protect yourself. So now you defend yourself against the thing you want to do or the change you want to make. Well, guess what? If you're protecting yourself from the thing you want to do, you won't let yourself do it. Pain puts you in self-defense, so you have to drop the pain so that you're not defending yourself, then you'll be able to move.

That's all focus work. Nothing else. It's all about what you're telling yourself in your head.

My goal in this 2 hour session this afternoon to help you work through that focus so that you stop doing that to yourself.

It's something I do for myself every single day, all the time. It's something I want to help you learn how to do for yourself because it will make your path easier. You can feel better and I can show you how to do it through focus.

If you want to sneak in, here's the link.

Note that I'm running this in a Facebook group, so you'll need to be over there on the book of faces to join me!

  3. When you focus on the problem with what you want, you won't allow yourself to find another way to get to it. You just focus on solving the problem.

That's actually normal. It's completely human. The mind wants to solve the problem. But sometimes that problem isn't really solvable from where you are and so if you don't find a way around it, you stay stuck.

You have to be willing to shift your focus away from the things the mind wants to fixate on. You have to pay attention to what the mind is doing. How can I allow myself to move forward anyway?

There are ways to get to where you want to go that don't look anything like the path you think you have to take. But until you're willing to shift your focus, you'll never see those paths.

I'm talking about focus on Sunday during Your Focus Matters. It's a 2 hour chat/brainstorming session, where I'm talking about things just like this. Come hang out. Bring your own focus issues, lets talk about the things that are happening for you. I can spot the pain in your focus from a mile away. I don't care what the thing is you're going after, I just want you to be able to not be in pain while you work on getting there. My goal is to help you shift your focus, not to agree with me, just away from the pain that keeps you stuck.

Let's talk about how this work, how to balance, how to shift, how to not be afraid to shift, and what it looks like in the practical world.

  5. I got busy doing other things earlier and didn't get to post this earlier!

My new podcast episode on Master Your Being came out today. It's called Truth Without Pain. You can check it out on your favorite podcast app.

As usual, my daily email went out today. You can sign up for those completely free on my website. Just scroll down until you find the Daily Dose of Inspiration.

My Patreon subscribers got their bonus blog today as well! You can subscribe to any tier on Patreon to get the extra content I put there. Cool bonus: Patreon subscribers get the podcast on Tuesday's!

You're running out of time if you want to get in on Your Focus Matters. It goes Sunday at 2 P.M. Central time. It will be recorded and left up in the Facebook group. No worries if you can't make it live. It's only $27 CAD or about $20 USD. I'll accept any pay what you can offer and even put you in there for free if that money is a stretch. Just reach out and let me know how I can help. People are already in there, so come save your spot!

And finally, private coaching and one off sessions are also an option. They are a way to get me to focus in on what's got you personally stuck, afraid, worried, stressed, doubtful, or anxious. I'm here to help you shift your focus, not to what makes sense to me, but what lets you stop feeling the fear, doubt, anxiety, or stress. Your relationship with the goal you have or the problem you want to solve is what I'm focused on. Having a good relationship with what you want means you stop focusing on the things that cause you pain. I can help you do that!

All these links can be found on my website. I will put the link down below!

    Love to all!

  7. Do you ever get what you want and then argue with it?

You know, you ask for the sign and it shows up and then you argue that it wasn't really the sign you asked for.

    It's that thing we do.

I got what I wanted but...

    Why do you do that?

It's a natural protection mechanism. The mind is trying to prevent pain. What if it doesn't work out? That's where the mind naturally wants to go.

The way around this is simple - notice it when it happens and shut it back down again.

The protective stories your mind wants to tell don't really help you. They keep you stuck. Worse yet, you don't enjoy getting what you asked for because you're arguing about how it showed up.

That encourages the future stories around how getting what you want is more of a problem than it's worth. And around the loop you go.

Look at how you shoot yourself in the foot. Look at how you unintentionally create problems that don't really exist.

You don't have to do this to yourself if you're willing to pay attention to your thinking and shift it.

It's not as hard as you think.

Come join me on Sunday for Your Focus Matters! Only a few days left to grab a spot! Come hang out and let's talk about focus! Here's the link!

  9. I realized a while ago that probably 90% of the pain in my life came from my perspective of the experiences that I'd had, not from the experiences themselves.

I created the vast majority of my own pain through my thoughts.

That truth didn't bother me at all. It was actually a good thing.

That meant that my life hadn't been particularly traumatic. It meant that nothing had happened that I couldn't handle. It meant that once I figured out where the pain was from and what to do with it, I could be okay. It meant that I literally just had to be able to manage my focus and I would be fine.

I didn't beat myself up because I had a screwy focus.

I didn't beat myself up because I'd created all my own pain.

I just accepted that those younger versions of me were doing the best they could. I tried. Life happened. What I was doing wasn't working, but I was trying, even if unsuccessfully. Personally, that's good enough.

I don't need to wish it away. I don't need to go back and change it.

It made me who I am now. It gave me a passion for helping others fix their focus, shift their perception, and get out of their own way. I'm grateful for that journey and what it offered me.

Shifting my focus wasn't necessarily the easiest thing in the world but it wasn't as painful as some of the healing processes I've watched others work their way through.

So yes, I'm here to challenge your perception of things and challenge your focus. What are you paying attention to? How is that making you feel? Why are you focusing on pain and problems?

I don't have all the answers. I just know that when you manage to get control over the mind, you shift your focus away from the struggles, create a relationship with what you want, and you move in that direction, life gets better.

If you want life to get better without wading through pain neck deep, I have a way to do this that doesn't require you to swim in the pain, it just requires you to shift your focus.

I'm going to challenge you to think differently, because that's what I do. But when you're ready to think differently and you're tired of defending the problems, I have options.

I've been talking about this all week! I'm offering a brainstorming session on Sunday called Your Focus Matters. It's a chance to just chat and see what shows up. We'll talk about focus and perception. We can talk about balance and how to manage the pain. We can talk about all the things that are coming up for you right now. I'll be there to answer the questions. And yes, I'm going to challenge your focus.

I've been so busy talking about Your Focus Matters this week that I haven't been offering my private coaching packages, but they are still there. Private coaching is for those that want the deep dive into focus shifting. This is for those that truly ready to let the focus on pain go. I have multiple options and payment plans available.

I truly don't believe life needs to be that hard. Most of it is about what we focus on, not about what actually happens. I want to show you how that works and how you can do it for yourself.

Come join me on Sunday! It's a cheap way to have a chat with me and begin the process of shifting your own focus. Here's the link.

  13. At 4:44PM today 3 things came out! Tuesday's are always busy!

The first is that my daily email is in your inbox if you're signed up for it. You can sign up on my website if you'd like to grab it for free.

The second is that my Patreon subscribers have early access to the podcast episode for this week. This episode is called Truth Without Pain and it's all about the truth and how it's really not supposed to be painful. If you'd like in you can hit up my Patreon page from my website.

The third is my weekly blog on Uncovering Your Reality. This blog is unlike anything I've ever written. I never intended to write this today, but I did.

This blog will make you mad if you don't release your notions of right and wrong or good and bad before you read it. I'm challenging the idea of the current goals we have to shut down hate and negativity. By challenging it I'm suggesting that the current strategy is not working because we will end up tearing each other apart. Have a read and it'll make more sense. We cannot continue on the path we're on and something needs to change.

Also a reminder that my brainstorming session, Your Focus Matters, is happening on Sunday. People are already beginning to join the group. If you'd like to get in for approximately $20 USD or $27 CAD you can find a link on my website.

You can check out and subscribe to whatever you feel drawn to! Here's the link.

  19. Your Focus Matters

That's the title of the brainstorming session I'll be offering on Sunday, May 7th.

To heal myself one of the first things that I had to do was shift my focus away from all the things that were causing me to be anxious, afraid, and worried.

It wasn't that those things weren't important anymore, it was that they were causing me so much stress and pain that I couldn't see what was actually going on. All the pain messed with my perception of things, caused me to not be able to find solutions, and kept me stuck in the pain for a really long time.

Your focus matters because it determines what's going on in your head. It determines how you feel. It determines what you do next and the choices that you make.

Every time I suggest that people shift their focus away from the problem, the fear shows up. I get it. It's scary to think that maybe we don't have to focus on the problems. The mind wants to tell us they'll jump up and bite us if we're not watching, but that's not true. That's the mind making up the story to keep where you are because it's trying to protect you from your own goals and from healing.

    Why does it do that?

Because those goals have unknown outcomes and so the mind fills in the blank, usually with something painful. It's a protection mechanism. Your mind is not out to get you.

So, I'm offering a 2-hour brainstorming session. It's the opportunity to come and listen to me think out loud about my own experience around shifting my focus.

I'll be offering ideas, strategies, and tips that I've learned along the way to help you manage your own focus a little better.

You'll be able to ask questions and think out loud too.

It's an opportunity to question our focus and why we think we have to maintain it. Why do we get stuck in these thought patterns?

For those of you that have been around awhile, this will be a very different thing from anything I've done in the past. I used to try to offer concrete strategies because I kept trying to "fix the problem" for you, but of course I can't do that.

The thing that I can offer is only what I've learned along the way. Hopefully in doing that, it will give you something that you can apply to your own life and move forward with more easily.

I'm keeping the tech simple and putting this in a Facebook group so that replays are a given and you can access the recording anytime you like.

It's also reasonably priced for most budgets at only $27 CAD (about $20 USD). If that's still a stretch and you want in, just message me and we'll work it out.

  21. We're going for a balance between the head and the heart.

I talk a lot about the mind because I started there. That was my process. I got control over the mind first and that allowed me to manage the emotions and then shift my behavior. I ended up with a balance of the head and heart, I just focused on the mind to start with.

For some of you, you're heart-centered. You've dropped out of the mind and into the heart. There's nothing wrong with that, the strategy works that way too.

The thing that I continue to offer is that you need to come back to balance the mind as well. You need to do both. You can't just drop one or the other and forget about it. To fully heal you need to balance all three things - thoughts, feelings, and behavior. If you leave any one of those out for any reason balance will be difficult to find.

My strategy wouldn't have worked for me either if I had stuffed all my emotions and not dealt with the heart-centered things. I ultimately did need to do both.

The question of which to do first is akin to the chicken and egg analogy. It really doesn't matter which comes first as long as you go back and manage the others as well.

Fear is why the scale gets tipped in one direction or the other. Truth be told, I was terrified of my emotions. That's why I started with the mind. But what I learned later on was that the mind could help me manage the emotions. Introducing some logic allowed me to deal with the thing I was scared of. The reverse is also true.

If you're scared of the mind because you're worried about the ego taking over and you don't like what the mind offers you, then you can use the heart to help you balance that.

Balance means the mind and heart agree with each other. They play nice. When it all comes down to it, the mind figures out how to make what the heart wants happen. The mind does that willingly without offering objection or fear. The mind never tries to trigger the heart and the heart doesn't trigger the mind. Both function in tune with each other equally and willingly. Both are on the same page reading from the same program and following the same plan. How you do that, which one you take on first, is entirely up to you.

I'm here to help my heart-centered folks get the mind on board and my thought-centered folks bring the heart along for the ride. Whichever way around it works for you is fine with me.

I have strategies and I have a plan. Private coaching packages with scholarships available are listed on my website. Just want a quick tune-up with a specific issue? One hour sessions are available.
