#Adelaide gig alert - and also self promotion which I've left a bit late. My band Wafers Crest is playing a set of Flying Nun Records classics at Suburban Brewery at Glynde from 7:30 tongiht. Will include songs by The Clean, The Chills, Bailter Space, The Able Tasmans, Bressa Creeting Cake, Garageland, The 3Ds, The Bats, JPS Experience and Straitjacket Fits (if we can fit all of that in). The excellent Sette Bello are also playing. #FlyingNun

The Enemy started in 1977 and along with The Clean, they're one of the first bands released on Flying Nun, and widely considered to be forerunners of "the Dunedin Sound". A quick search of BandCamp turns up a lot of bands called The Enemy, but nothing quite like the original kiwi iteration.

Probably heard it late one night in 1985 on #WFMU while I was still in high school. Helped seal my lifelong love for oddball, jangly indie pop(as well as low-budget, moody music videos!).

Had a good record shopping day today. Black Sabbath, Sia, Smog and Deftones. Saturday tradition of going to #Slowboat #FlyingNun and #DeathRayRecords maintained. Now playing a home version of the Amoeba records ‘what’s in your bag?’ show with my BF. I need more shelves for my record collection though. We ran out of space a while ago and the corner of my lounge is looking Wonderland Records level hoarding.
