@PeteLittle videos and books are great but what really gave me confidence was to go to a one day "advanced" workshop.
advanced was a big word. I think we serviced a BB, a headset, some disc brake pads and used a bearing press.
Still that was awesome to learn the basic mistake I could avoid from a pro.

That was at look mum no hands. Also a few hours doing shit at "London Bike Kitchen" was great. So sad those two places are gone

Successful reassembly and installation.
That IQX light had been broken on my desk for months and I am so proud of having fixed it

Trying to fix my SPD cycle shoes.
The hard sole is still good. The leather shoe is good as well.
The problem is the rubber pads glued to the shoes that have worn out and as a result the cleats are exposed and damaging floors

1) I removed the remaining rubber to expose the plastic underneath it
2) filed, brushed and cleaned with isopropyl
3) glued pieces of rubber soles that I cut to match the shape
