We're reading the first (unpublished) book of an unnamed friend. @christyfifield is 60 pages in, and (happy dance) the word is it's very good!
I'm not surprised. Said friend kept saying to me they weren't a writer, but they have been doing narrative work in another medium for a long, long time. My answer to them is always, "But you're a STORYTELLER." And guess what, cowgirls, cowboys and cowpeople, kind of this skill-building translates!
