I decided to go back to FF XIV, but the only thing that it's keeping me off is the pure, dread chaos that is the Squaresoft account management.
I feel like I'd need a whole night just to figure out which account to reactivate :\
But first, I'm going to convince myself finishing The Last of Us Part 2. Can't have that dangling unfinished in my brain.

I think the... less interesting cutscenes/dialogue in Final Fantasy XIV would be so much more tolerable if you could just also click through animations.
If I do decide to skip a cutscene, those slow and repetitive animations are nearly always the reason, not the dialogue itself.

Being able to go into dungeons as only two players and fill the rest with chocobos is cool.
But I don't understand why they don't use the trust system and also allow going in with 3 players and fill 1 with a trust.

So uh... Trying to set up a #SteamInput profile for #FinalFantasyXIV to use L4/R4 on the Steam Deck/Controller for accessing the WXHD hotbar is significantly more complicated than I imagined. I can't get it to be consistent no matter what 😭 It'll work for one side, and then clicking the other fails

The amount that the repetitive "at every level ending in 2, 9, or 0 there's a Trial (8-player boss fight), every odd numbered level has a dungeon..." narrative structure of Final Fantasy XIV combined with the need for NPC allies to be present for Duty Support (single player) mode results in Dawntrail having a truly hilarious number of times a bunch of Scions of the Seventh Dawn show up to fill out the NPC party member slots up to 3 or 7 and then immediately go offscreen afterwards. :ac_laughter:

Final Fantasy XIV has in Dawntrail twice pulled this with the Turalian and Alexandrian languages, in a work I am supposed to take vaguely seriously. Really.
It's especially funny because every FF XIV protagonist already has an inherent universal translator built into their soul. It's just so they don't have to write a language barrier for the Scions.
...I'm just going to blame this on the Ascians. It's always the Ascians somehow. :p

CW: The one thing I want in Evercold (final dungeons spoilers)
Please let the final dungeon be anything but another copy of Amaurot again!
I really disliked The Dead Ends and Alexandria because of that.
If they want to make another Amaurot-style dungeon, fine, but then put it as the level 109 or 107 one.
Also, put more story-relevant bosses in the dungeons, I really missed that in Dawntrail after Endwalker had so many.
