The lack of reliable data on the actual #nutrition situation in #Gaza is starting to become politicized, due to speculations induced by the June 4th report of the "Famine Review Committee" (#FRC) on earlier data and assumptions collected by the "Famine Early Warning Systems Network" (#FEWS NET).
The report in itself is a textbook example of how to say "we don't know anything for sure", littered with wildly diverging example speculations of what might be true, in a manner that will ultimately cause maximal damage to international #aid delivery to Gaza.
At least, the FRC recognizes that summing up hypothetical calories does not translate into actually having access to something to eat:
- financial access: who can afford the current "market prices" to buy food?
- social access: who has the elbows to obtain food, who is left behind?
- physical access: is there any working infrastructure to widely distribute food and aid?
