I have a bone to pick with people who use English language hashtags in posts written in another language. Don't do it.

@SRLevine @tf Adding:
•In the Fediverse we filter things in & out, using hashtags. So help us keep our preferences working & safe. If you're tooting about the bird site, or US politics, caturday, Ukraine war, etc, hashtag it, so we who are filtering all that out (or following it), can.
•mstdn.ca is a server in Canada. Many joined for default Canadian spelling, currency, politics, etc. So use "US$"; "US Pres" not "The Pres" etc. 🙏#mastotips #FediverseEtiquette -
Please - if you see a post that's harmful to anyone don't post a screenshot and thereby amplify the thread. Direct message the admins/mods of your server instead. I just woke up to reading a death threat. That's not cool. If nothing else at least put it behind a CW. #report #block# #FediverseEtiquette #Compassion
