They are great, if you haven’t you should check out the FOSS alternative to #Gathertown called #WorkAdventure and its fork by the Chaos Computer Club, which was used by hundreds of users simultaneously during the #rC3 events. It sparked a scene of creators of great little meeting worlds, very playful and experimental. People are even working on a federated version: https://gitlab.com/fediventure/fediventure/-/issues/2 (there is current activity I heard in the #fediventure matrix channel)
