== Moderation bot updates! ==

We've got some good feedback on the bot from you guys and have been working on it a bit more since then.

Today we're releasing v1.3.0 with some significant improvements over the initial version:

- Improved Matrix message formatting (now also looks acceptable on mobile clients)

- Added configurable handling for signups where the user does not complete email confirmation within the timeout window

- Added detection for manual approvals and rejections performed directly in the Mastodon admin UI

- Updates for changed webhook behavior introduced in Mastodon v4.6

- Various fixes for edge cases, HTTP and JSON handling

Grab the code and installation instruction from our repo:

or use our ready-to-run docker image:
- https://git.fediverse.foundation/ff_pub/-/packages/container/fedi-signup-bot/latest

This should do it for now for basic features, as well as the odd edge case as far as we can tell.

We're now looking into some more advanced (optional) things such as persisting bot state across restarts, as well as ways of adding additional useful information to the signup to help with separating real users from bots.
