Live and recent posts from across the Fediverse tagged #fedilabs, aggregated by home.social.

  1. Found a nice "feature" in @apps v3.37.1 (Google): I wrote a text containing a hashtag and accidentally added the same hashtag at the end again: as a result, the text was gone and only the two hashtags remained

    #Fedilabs

  2. Do notifications for hashtags work for you? Do you receive a notification when a new post with a watched hashtag is found? For me, it neither works in @Fedilabs nor im browser. Is that even implemented?

Update: Looks like I made it up that the browser has this option at all. But I've found a feature request for it, so feel free to comment there:

  3. Owwww I found out that I could adjust the colors of some things in my #FediLabs app. A bit of tinkering, but the app is so much more "me" now. Cool! :squirtle_jam:

  6. I have had a bit poor battery life on my Google Pixel 9 Pro with GrapheneOS.

I have always used Mastodon and Matrix in Vanadium browser.

Today I tried to use Mastodon in an app instead (Fedilabs), and wow, the same time scrolling my time line used about a third amount of battery.

So going forth I will use apps whenever possible.

  7. Does anyone have any clue, why @apps won't show me push notifications, while @Tusky does for the same instance? I have all notifications on for #Fedilabs and I still don't get them - for months already!

  9. Been having several more crashes with the @apps #Fedilabs app on my Android 😔
Every time I send the crash report email.
I've mentioned my user name a few times, as they requested that I'd inform them.
    Did a small cache clean.
    Did the whole cache clean...
    Restarted the phone.

I just love the Fedilabs app the most! It just really suits my needs and wants for Mastodon!

I use others at times, and while they don't crash... They still aren't my preferred app to use...

I really hope they can sort out what is causing the app to crash all the time. I don't think my phone is too wonky for it? It's an "older" one, being a Samsung S22 Ultra. But the specs aren't that bad I thought for an app like this?

I hoped the cache clear would help. It had gathered quite a bit of data, so I figured it would be too much to handle?

If anyone else using the Fedilabs app has these issues, please use the crash report settings and share them with the devs. Hopefully that will provide them with all the info they need to find the best solution. 😊

I really :pixelheart: love the app! Just hate all the annoying times that it crashes on me... 😔

Fankoos in advance to the tech team that can *hopefully* use all the reports I've been sharing and find the solution...

  10. Does anyone else using #FediLabs have issues?

My app keeps crashing. When I open the app. When I want to open a conversation. When I want to reply...

It also has issues with showing the profile names properly, at least for me...

I use an older phone, a Samsung S22 Ultra, but that should still be able to run the app, I recon. I clear cache every now and then, and that seems to help some.

I love the Fedilabs app, it's the one I prefer. But the crashes take some of the joy out of it. So I was wondering if more peopl have issues with it.

I tried to contact @apps here a whole ago but never saw a reply. I keep sending error logs the app provides me with. But the last app update was in March, so I wonder if the app is still being worked on? 🤔

Please let me know if you have issues too, so hopefully the app mods will be able to find the reason of the crashes and, hopefully, be able to release an update with fixes...

  11. Ello @apps
I tagged you a while ago but never saw a reply...
I've been having issues with your app. I enabled the error email log, and I've been sending all the logs to the email that its given me when it asked me to send the error log...

I love the app! I love how it shows the conversation when I click to reply. I love the options, the layout, the search for emojis... That's why I bought the app...

But... It keeps crashing on me! 😢 And I keep sending the reports. And never get a reply. Haven't seen an update since March either... Maybe you're working on an update now? With the reports about all the crashes?

Please let me know what I can do to prevent the app from crashing so often... I did a new install and that didn't help...

The app also still has issues with showing the profile names properly...

Please make the app more functional again, as I miss it when I use other apps...

Fankoos :pixelheart: for the hard work!

  12. Aaaah well.... #Fedilabs has some issues for me again... Over the last few weeks, I've emailed the reports it made when it crashed... I have no idea if they show the receiver anything worthy that can help them fix the bug that keeps crashing it... It's my favorite app, but it does have some bugs...
It still doesn't show all the proper names in the toots (the name of the one who wrote the toots, on the time line). It's had issues for me with saving the draft, and then when I wanna work on it more, it's only got a few lines and not all that I saved... 🤔
And then the crashes that happen occasionally. But, as said, I've enabled the reports and I mail them to the email that the app gives me with the reports... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that @apps will be able to use them to fix the app... 😊

As said, it's my favorite app. But I'm glad I can switch to others when it's not willing to work with me...

  13. I've tried #Pachli for a day now. And it's great to use an app that doesn't crash so often...
But in terms of functions/options, I do prefer #Fedilabs.
Why does it crash so often?
They asked for bug reports but I don't know where to find these... I just get a pop-up from Android saying that "it seems this app is crashing a lot" and that's it...
So while I'd love to help Fedilabs make the app better again, I don't know how I can do that...
So I'll just switch between Fedilabs and Pachli and hope that Fedilabs will have an update soon! 😁

  14. @bundyo Bot Vivaldi, but then why would I have the same issue in the #Fedilabs app?

  15. Can anyone imagine what could be causing a #Pixelfed profile to throw errors when trying to post an image via #Fedilabs and via a mobile browser, but not have any issues posting the image from a desktop browser?

  16. What is up with #tuskyapp and not uploading images? Having to always use #fedilabs, which is fine but like... Plz work

  17. @misivedres @Mastodon

Use #FediLabs or the browser version.
Doesn't work for all language combinations, though.

  18. @paulschoe @Mastodon Thank you for replying :) I'm assuming they have deliberately coded the app to remove the bell icon then once an account has been followed? I wonder why that would be? Unless that is the actual default and other app developers have to actually add that in? It makes it inconvenient to have to log into the web version to simply have to deselect the notification bell icon on the accounts you no longer want notifications from. Thanks again!

  19. @moelassus

In the #Fedilabs app, also on your profile, I can click "block domain"

  20. @kojack You can, at leats on the web UI. There should be a notes section Where you can put a private note about the profile. I don't know if this is on the official apps yet (I use #Fedilabs from @apps)

Examples on both the advanced and regular web views.

  21. @lakoja

I am using #Fedilabs when I am busy with threads and to control my bots because they have better thread capabilities. But when I am just browsing and replying I use #Moshidon

    @helplessduck

  22. @lakoja

Yeah, for me to. #Fedilabs does it less, but does show a post multipke times if it has multiple hashtags that I am subscribed to.

    @helplessduck

  23. One feature that I would like to have in #Mastodon apps is to group the same post below multiple hashtags in my home timeline.

Currently, if I am subscribed to a few hashtags that overlap and someone uses them all in there post, I see the post multiple times in my home timeline under different hashtags.

It should be grouped or only showed on e if I post included multiple hashtags that I follow.

  24. @maxleibman

Another great feature in apps like #Megalodon and #Fedilabs is the ability to hide replies in timelines.

This promotes the feature of #threads. Because you only see the original top post and no posts out of context. So if you see a post and you are interested in the content and replies, you can click on it and go down the tree of comments. This is way better on #Mastodon than #Twitter.

I really like the idea of threads here on Mastodon. It allows for an idea based conversation, where every post is a single topic but is tied together to a larger conversation by the top post.

Similar to these 4 posts I've made now.
