Hey #FediHiveMind / #AskMastodon, help me out here. As you can probably see from the lack of activity on this account, I'm ramping down my social media presence pretty hard. However, I still find myself with downtime where I want to read something, but don't have/don't have time or mental space to make progress on a nonfiction book and don't want to read fiction.
What I actually want is a zine.
So I'm looking for recommendations. Where do you get your zines? Are there any regularly or irregularly published series you recommend? Who are your go to distros? All types welcome, from fanzines to tabletop rpg zines to software zines to photo zines to political zines. #Zines!
Thanks in advance.

Hey #FediHiveMind I've got a question for you...
Recently, #StephenFry has pivoted to voicing support for #trans folks - which is of course uniquivocably a #GoodThing. However, just a few years ago, he was still making TV shows with the #TERF Queen #JKR and actively platforming anti-trans rhetoric. At the same time, on #Mastodon, he was verbally abusing and blocking people who called him out for that.
At the time, while I was on another instance, I also had such an altercation with him and was blocked by him. I'm trying to find forensic or any other remaining evidence of his tantrum in the Fediverse, to use as evidence to show that, despite his recent pivot, he still does have apologies and reparations to make for his transmisic past... -
CW: Food, slowcooker, asking for input
Question to the #FediHivemind :
Can y'all recommend me some good breakfast dishes* that can be made over night in a slowcooker? The dream is that I put something together in the pot and turn it on right before going to bed, let it cook over night with no input from my side in the meantime (because I'll be sleeping, hopefully), and then wake up to breakfast being ready, or at least close to ready.

OK #FediHiveMind… I’m looking for recs for a 13”-14” #Linux “#UltraBook” with a #GPU, a decent number of CPU cores, can take (ideally) 64GB RAM, has good-to-great battery life^ – and works mostly-out-of-the-box with Linuxen… 😬
I’m not fussed about screen resolution (HD is fine, my eyes are old 🙃) nor refresh rates (this won’t primarily be a gaming rig) nor OLED vs IPS (unless it improves battery life)
it doesn’t have to be a current model, but I’m looking for something in the last 2-3 years so I can keep this #laptop for a bunch™ of years
personal experiences only pls – I don’t need ppl to do research for me, in this toot I’m looking for practice over theory
pls #boost4reach 🙏
^ yes, I am aware of how physics works 🤪 -
🤔 👋 Fediverse Techies👋
I have what is likely a silly question: 🙄About the glasses that record what the users see and hear.🥸
Would it be possible to create a QR code transferable to a pendant or T-shirt that might disrupt the flow of information? Maybe cause a virus?
