Watched #FastAndFurious 5. The one with the safe heist at the end. I was a bit appalled by the deaths the team is causing though. That didn't feel like fun. But there are first hints at the bromance between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson - even though these actors apparently didn't like each other.
Didn't like the ending with Han driving on a German Autobahn with a girl on his lap. Fuck him, guys like him cause fatal crashes all the time. Not funny at all. Made worse by the bad greenscreen comp. -

After #FastAndFurious 9 I went back to number 4. And it’s a really interesting experience: there‘s no team yet, Diesel and Walker are still street racers. But there is no fun at all. Diesel‘s girlfriend is killed off screen and Diesel is out for revenge but he acts like he would be equally pissed if somebody scratched his car. Nobody is really likable here.
The CGI of the time has a noticeable softness to it. But it works even though physics is already an afterthought in Fast 4. -
Continuing my #FastAndFurious marathon with no. 8. And this one is definitely worse than no. 7.
The plot wants to keep you in the dark but that just makes every twist and reveal feel forced.
The team is now working together with the villain of previous movies and Vin Diesel finds out he has a baby son whose mother is conveniently killed. This means that Rodriguez can be a street-racing badass and a mother in the next movie without being a pregnant street-racing badass. Smart! -
Guilty pleasure: I'm catching up on the many Fast & Furious movies that I haven't seen yet. I've seen the first one when it came out and I'm skipping straight ahead to no. 7, the last one starring the late Paul Walker. It's not hard to follow the plot despite references to enemies and deaths from previous movies.

Derzeit nebenbei wieder mal ein lockerer ReWatch der #FastandFurious-Filme (ab dem fünften).
Obwohl ich die nun ziemlich gut kenne, erwarte ich z.B. beim Finale des siebten Teiles, dass mindestens ein Kaiju um die Ecke poltert und mitmacht.
Andererseits: die mythische Überhöhung der Großmacker macht diese selbst zu menschengroßen Kaijus mit ihren jeweiligen Technik-Gadgets und Signatur-Fahrzeugen.
Auf seine Art ist die Reihe eine mustergültige Spielart moderner #Fantasy.
