EN EL ESPIRITU DE EISNER: Se anunciaron los nominados para la edición 2024 de los #EisnerAwards, uno de los premios más importantes de los #comics en EEUU.
Se trata de obras publicadas durante el año 2023, y las editoriales más nominadas son #ImageComics con 17, y #DCComics con 13, seguidas por #Fantagraphics con 13 e #IDW con 9.
La guionista Kelly Thompson tiene cinco nominaciones, por comics como Birds of Prey o The Cull, y como Mejor Guionista; mientras que con tres nominaciones están los autores Emily Carroll, Juanho Guarnido, Bill Griffith, y Tom Taylor.
A continuación, algunas nominaciones destacadas. En la categoría Mejor Número Individual o One-Shot están Nightwing #105 (DC, por Tom Taylor y Bruno Redondo) y Star Trek: Day of Blood — Shax’s Best Day (IDW por Ryan North y Derek Charm). En Mejor Serie Regular, cuatro de las cinco nominaciones son para DC, con Birds of Prey (Kelly Thompson y Leonardo Basto Romero), Nightwing (Taylor y Redondo), Shazam! En Mejor Serie Limitada destacan Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons (IDW, por Frank Tieri y Inaki Miranda) y Superman: Lost (DC, Christopher Priest y Carlo Pagulayan), mientras que en Mejor Publicación de Humor vuelve a estar nominado el argentino Liniers, por Macanudo: Optimism Is for the Brave (Fantagraphics).
Los nominados a Mejor Guionista son Stephen Graham Jones (Earthdivers), Mariko Tamaki (Roaming), Tom Taylor (Nightwing, Titans), Kelly Thompson (Birds of Prey, The Cull, Captain MArvel, otros), Mark Waid (Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, Shazam!, World’s Finest: Teen Titans), y G. Willow Wilson (Poison Ivy, Hunger and the Dusk).
En Mejor Guionista/Dibujante destacan Daniel Warren Johnson (Transformers) y Zoe Thorogood (Hack/Slash: Back To School), y en Mejor Dibujante/Entintador Dan Mora (Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, Shazam!) y Chris Samnee (Fire Power). Mora también está nominado como Mejor Artist de Tapa.
También se nominaron 16 posibles nuevos integrantes al Salón de la Fama de los Eisners, de los cuales se eligirán cuatro por votación general, mientras que un jurado especializado ya ha seleccionado a otros 19 integrantes. Los nominados para los restantes cuatro puestos son Gus Arriola, Eddie Campbell, Mike Friedrich, Don Heck, Klaus Janson, Abe Kanegson, Jim Lee, Mike Mignola, Tom Palmer, Bob Powell, Mike Royer, Ira Schnapp, Phil Seuling. Leonard Starr, Jill Thompson, y Angelo Torres.
Los premios se entregarán el 16 de julio, en una ceremonia en la San Diego Comic-Con. Stan Sakai no está nominado a Mejor Rotulista.

I finished #DanielClowes' #MONICA #Fantagraphics the other night. After a few days of thinking about it, I'm now reading some reviews to get other takes on it.
"We are, each of us, products of the past that bore us, a past that lingers at the edge of perception the way a comics panel we just read does, peripherally shaping our sense of the one we are now reading. The trouble with origin stories is that they are maps, which is why we keep reworking them, hoping that we might finally find our way to someplace new, or at least someplace where we can start again."
