It takes a significant number of resources and skill to provide a satisfactory safe place for multiple blind persons. This is being accomplished. ❤️
As a mother of two blind teenagers, it was so exciting to tour a factory setting that provides meaningful employment opportunities for the visually impaired.

#today - Spent a lot of time outdoors. This is week 3 of a running program and it's been a great decision although very different than I expected. After years of chronic stress and COVID, I lost significant weight and so reapproaching a physical regimen was needed but terrifying. So far? 👍
The weather was gorgeous today and so many geese (not pictured). #Kansas does have some wicked thorns.

Kansas is definitely misrepresented in the media - mostly defined as a fly over state and/or connected to Wizard of Oz.

One of the photos from a recent walk. I was on a goose hunt. 😆 ~an enormous flock of geese arrived.
I have a couple of fun settings on my camera that I can use. This was one. Kind of reminded me of the unnecessary scary looking sky and dramatically shaped SM landscape that we're forced to endure.

It's been awhile since I took the kids to a 'child casino'. 😆
I wasn't quite sure how they'd react, given the immense sensory overload. They 💕 noise. Sometimes. 🙃
This adventure they didn't want to play but rather roam the aisles. At one point, I thought Jake was overwhelmed. He took over Julia's wheelchair and started to run for the exit. But no... he just wanted to race push her through the maze of it all. I didn't think I'd get them out.

My mood today. This was from the last Cheney Lake adventure.
#today - I feel stagnant and sometimes referring back to photos helps me recycle and push forward, not only with depression but writing.
Maybe it's just due to all the bad information I continually see on the internet. If people followed the 'tips' they would not be successful in life.

Today can be summed up in one question - why is this cotton ball so small? 😆
Applying calamine lotion is not easy and I have myself to blame because despite taking precautions while hiking, still managed to touch something.
Yet worth it. I need these kinds of outdoor adventures. The weather yesterday was incredible for early autumn photos. Managed to find many of my targets; trees, squirrels, birds, sunflowers and water.

Today's hike. Yes, I managed to go outside and take some gorgeous fall pictures. It's dry out there. Leaves are just now beginning to turn. Here are a few. Pretty standard to have cottonwood trees surround a lake.

I wanted to share some of the other awesome sensory plants that I encountered. Viewing the tiny details, even through a screen helps me at times. I'm a creative. I need lots and lots of color and enhanced sensory input just to feel normal.
My son Jake is the same way. He loves to garden with me. Although sometimes it's hard for him to physically tolerate the outdoor experience, he does enjoy the photos.

It's a very peaceful place to visit and enjoy the elements. I need this kind of activity in order to balance the PTSD as it allows me to enjoy the sensory feedback and bright colors.

Anyone else love street corn? Made jalapeno ranch corn and my second batch of cream puffs this week. Julia wanted to put ice cream in the puffs but I didn't think that would work so she settled for a bowl. 😊
Idk, might try her idea. Haven't filled them yet. I just think the pastry is too delicate. Probably will go with typical whipped cream or pudding.
