So the #Trump admin is #exempting new #nuclear #reactors from #environmental #reviews. That's nice. I was at Southern Company for all of the construction of Vogtle Units 3 & 4 in Waynesboro, Georgia. I remember those #environment #reviews. I hope these rules don't "trump" Georgia's DNR authority for example.
Either way I hope nuclear #operators will still conduct their own environmental reviews.
Just think about how costly it would be to halt #construction, or even worse have to do something after the #reactor is live, because an environmental review wasn't performed. It's going to be 100x more expensive (if not more) to fix any issues after a reactor has been built than to fix things before construction begins.
Only the most stupidest of idiots would think these new rules from the Federal Government are actually going to save nuclear operators any money!
