The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will begin its semi-annual interior washdown to degrease and clean 21 County-owned parking garages in Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Wheaton on nights and weekends beginning Monday, April 13, 2026. The cleanings will start with the Bethesda garages and conclude with the Silver Spring garages on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Sitting on the back veranda of my hillside home on 8 acres at dusk. Lights just coming on in the Rogue Valley below and on the Cascade Mountains foothills on the other side of the valley. Red headed woodpecker is chattering as it nests, and a great horned owl is hooting from the Oaks below, no doubt on the prowl for a meal. It’s been dry, so the frogs have stopped singing but crickets are still ever-present in the background. In the distance, an occasional glass pack muffler or high-revving cafe racer shatters the evening quiet then fades away. #ruminations #BackPorch #Evenings
