  5. Your keyboard is your interface to the world.

    So why settle for generic?

The compact UHK 60 is built for people who tweak, script, optimize, and never stop improving their setup.

  6. In hindsight, if I had bought the 32-key #FishKeyboard and learnt the #OnishiLayout my #ErgonomicKeyboard journey would have been a bit different.

Instead I’m designing my own 32-key #MechanicalKeyboard(s), learnt #HandsDownPromethium, and am learning the #NaginataStyle Japanese kana #KeyboardLayout.

    Maybe not that different?

  7. Comfort over long hours starts with the right setup. ⏳

Using the UHK Riser, high degree tenting allows your hands and forearms to rest in a more natural, neutral position. By reducing forearm rotation and minimizing wrist deviation, it helps ease physical stress, supports healthier posture, and lowers fatigue during extended typing sessions.

Stay comfortable, stay focused, and keep going longer. 🎯

  8. Regular keyboards are familiar and easy to use, but often push hands inward ⚠️.

Split keyboards separate the halves, for natural arm/wrist alignment and better comfort. Customizable to fit your style.✨

Different needs call for different solutions — UHK is giving you both worlds.

IIRC, they said having LEDs anywhere else than under the keycaps would have made the keyboard even bulkier than the keywells already force it to be. I found that argument convincing.

Also, in using a Glove80 as my daily driver for several years (since the Kickstarter), I can say I don't miss the LEDs at all. YMMV, of course.

  17. Unsure if I've even mentioned this anywhere before,

but I've maintain a "Steam Curator" page for the last few years, keeping a log of how well games handle custom keyboard layouts - feel free to follow it if you want to see a note on Steam Store pages telling you whether a game's keybind settings are up-to-snuff:

  18. The sticker surgery to update the labels to match my revised #HandsDownPromethium layout variation went as well as expected. This now matches my #ErgonomicKeyboard (which has blank keycaps).

The stickers do come off pretty cleanly, fingernails are safer if you can get traction - forceps can scratch, and the black coating on the Apple underglow key caps is surprisingly thin.

Comma and period are now semicolon and colon when shifted, needing spliced stickers.

The right index finger top key with the “<“ label is now backspace like #NaginataStyle - rather unusual in the English focused #KeyboardLayout world.

My #ZMK config is at github.com/peterjc/zmk-config and the #KarabinerElements version for the laptop at codeberg.org/peterjc/kana-chor

  19. Another #MechanicalKeyboard milestone: I have taken my failing #Microsoft4000 #ErgonomicKeyboard off my desk, leaving just my little DIY 36-key keyboard (and a vertical mouse).

This was actually prompted by my optician suggesting that as my close vision has deteriorated slightly, I should try glasses with a reading wedge (baby #bifocals) and the monitor lower down so I look at it through the lower part of the lenses. I need to sit straight now!

    (Plan B is dedicated intermediate / #ReadingGlasses)

  20. If it wasn’t obvious from recent posts, I have fallen into the world of #ErgonomicKeyboard / #MechanicalKeyboard / #KeyboardLayouts

My #CorneKeyboard arrived from Ali Express this week, I've already tried one new layout, and just today I filed my first issue and pull request on a public repository related to this new “hobby”: github.com/aradzie/keybr.com/i

That's for the keybr.com/ touch-typing platform, and a very recent layout called #HandsDownPromethium which has the letter R and space on thumb keys.

  21. It only just occurred to me, but there’s a reason its the E key which is starting to fail on my #Microsoft4000 #ErgonomicKeyboard - its the most used letter in the English language (and I'm not a vi/vim user so no HJKL effect - my cursor keys get pounded instead, and thankfully are holding up fine).

I guess switching to Dvorak would be one “solution" (becomes `.>`) , or Colemak (becomes F).

  22. #Keyboard fans on #macOS - is there an easy way to record keystroke usage counts? e.g. Like an extended version of this software which currently only does a grand total of all keys: github.com/MarcusDelvecchio/Ke

I want data on my existing usage while thinking about #KeyboardLayout, thumb keys, and #KeyboardLayers for the programable #CorneKeyboard #ErgonomicKeyboard I have ordered

  23. Looks like #Incase will be resurrecting the Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard LXM-00004 incase.com/collections/ergonom

However, I want something closer to the older Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 - comparative review at norphus.co.uk/2022/07/29/micro

  24. New #ergonomickeyboard and #ergonomicmouse since the old set was starting to get a bit touchy. Decided to try out a new set. Lenovo something or other. It has cork!

So far so good. Hoping it lasts a long while. Mice tend to give up on me fast.

  25. I’ve lately constantly been scoring above 50wpm on my corne using colemak-dh. It’s also now my daily driver. #ErgonomicKeyboard #crkbd #SplitKeyboard #MonkeyType

  26. I’ve been tinkering with my keyboard firmware. I started with #miryoku and added a few layers to be able use it to play video games. I also enabled the oled screens and the leds #SplitKeyboard #corne #crkbd #qmk #ErgonomicKeyboard github.com/benoitlouy/qmk_firm

  27. Keymap update! Adjusted mousekeys: now using constant speed, and acceleration keys are easier to reach. Embraced one-handed layouts for playing games, including a qwerty layout for games that don't allow remapping keys (such as #timberborn). And finally, merged in main branch from the upstream QMK repo.

  28. Here's a fresh #Glove80 review by Kristina Panos:

    hackaday.com/2023/03/22/glove8

"I dig this #keyboard a lot. I think it works quite well for small hands, but I doubt that medium hands would feel cramped at all. (...)

Although I must disclose that I received this as a free sample for review, I would absolutely spend the money on one. It seems that #MoErgo really did think of everything when it comes to ergonomic portability, and it shows."

You know what's funny? When one looks for a split contoured #ErgonomicKeyboard, it's the other way round: there are exactly TWO commercially available models - #KinesisAdvantage360 and #Glove80.

Last month, I got the latter. Previously, I used a #KinesisAdvantage, one of TWO commercially available non-split countoured keyboards (the other being #Maltron).

  30. #MoErgo, maker of my #Glove80 split #ErgonomicKeyboard, just stated on Discord they don't like to rip you off by turning essential features (like detachable palm rests) into accessories:

    »We don't charge extra for:
    - BLE
    - RGB (starting from Batch 2)
    - Tenting kit
    - Palm rests
    - Custom mounting support
    - Support for alternative layouts such as Dvorak/Colemak
    - Support for arbitrary layouts (yes, you can swap any keys without buying keycaps)
    (…)«

You probably didn't have a #wireless #split #ErgonomicKeyboard in mind but technically, I can legally answer the question with "yes, I recommend #Glove80". 🙃 At least if you get the add-on keycap set (every keycap is interchangable) to turn it into a QWERTZ. It's not cheap, but no #contoured keyboard is. And I would not recommend a flat keyboard to anybody.

  32. Getting used to my #Glove80, a #split #ErgonomicKeyboard. Really enjoying my #CustomLayout so far, especially having Shift, Ctrl, Alt & Win on *both* thumbs, unlike #KinesisAdvantage.

Next step to increase comfort is trying #tenting: raise the middle part so that my forearm bones are less twisted and more towards a natural handshake position. Starting with ~ 16 mm (pictured left), but this #keyboard could go way higher!
