Just gave our @iaacsic.bsky.social journal club summarising the @europlanetmedia.bsky.social #EPSCDPS2025 meeting in Helsinki (now nearly 2 months ago!) . Now looking forward to welcoming a couple of guests from the @oeaw.bsky.social Space Research Institute, Graz for some collaborative discussions!

Cool! I sadly missed the Lucy session at #EPSCDPS2025 last week due to clashing sessions, but interesting to see all the features on this little body :)

Had a full week in #EPSCDPS2025 at Finlandia Hall, Helsinki. Wonderful sessions, posters and contacting "remote" friends and planetary scientists face-to-face from practically all over the world.

@Chrislintott starts by noting how the number of known interstellar objects has gone from 2 to 3 since this session was proposed.

2024 YR4 will not impact Earth, but has a chance of impacting the Moon in 2032.

The next data expected will be by @asrivkin et al. in 2026.

Katherine de Kleer et al. describe a survey of large main-belt asteroids in the mid-IR for #EPSCDPS2025: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EPSC-DPS2025/EPSC-DPS2025-1159.html

They find very small grain sizes and high porosity in the uppermost few wavelengths of their targets; and some interesting lab work to compare to.
