But they had one cool thing where you have to press a circle thingy to know whether the battery still got a charge but eh. They all leaked so what's the point, lol.

What sucks about rechargeables though is that they're kinda expensive, especially eneloops but I read they last a long time so they're probably worth the cost but still. I don't earn much to be comfortable buying stuff I won't even use right away. Plus they might get lost or misplaced..

@leah Alles, was bei #Panasonic das Werk verlässt, also insbesondere Kleinelektronik wie Rasierer oder elektrische Zahnbürsten, aber auch deren #Akkus unter der Marke #Eneloop oder Fernseher. Gleichzeitig können die Geräte fast immer repariert werden und es gibt sehr lange #Ersatzteile. Insgesamt scheint japanische Produktion oft noch ganz anderen Qualitätsanspruch zu haben. #Eizo wurde hier ja auch schon als schönes Beispiel genannt.

Ich hab öfter das Problem, dass mit AA/AAA NiMH Akkus (zB #Eneloop) die Batteriewarnung von Sensoren/Aktoren nicht funktioniert weil diese eine andere Entladekurve haben als eine Alkaline Batterie.
Hab mir jetzt mal so Li-ion AA Akkus mit eingebauten Spannungswandlern geholt. Die halten die 1.5V und schalten erst am Ende ihrer Kapazität auf 1.2V um. Damit sollte die Batteriewarnung klappen, bin gespannt. #XTAR

Wenn zwei von 16 Batterien defekt sind, und du mit Zielsicherheit beide erwischst, musst du dich nicht wundern, wenn deine Funktastatur erst nach dem dritten Batteriewechsel mit dem Schluckauf aufhört.

Eneloop rechargeable batteries are not what they used to be.

The last of my 2011 purchase of twenty-four failed in 2023. They lasted 12 years.

Seven of the the twelve that I bought in 2016 are still working. Not as good as the '11 batteries, but still acceptable.

I bought twelve new batteries in 2022. Only four of the 2022 batteries still work in 2024.

I bought another twelve in 2023. The video shows the last two have failed in less than a year. 100% loss in less than one year is unacceptable.

I will never buy Eneloop again.

Got some new #Eneloop rechargeable batteries today - pretty much the only rechargeables I use.
Impressed at the new non-plastic packaging. Hopefully better for the environment _and_ easier to use.

Any body else having trouble with #eneloop in clocks and or #thermostats or other #electronics where the voltage isn't sufficient to power the device? I just had a #honeywell thermostat declare low battery with the two cells at 1.26 Volts. I put fresh (1.30 Volt) cells in place, and it still said low battery, so I couldn't get my heat to go back on. I just 'fixed' it temporarily:

I'm no expert in batteries but: eneloop batteries are environment-friendly alternatives to traditional #alkaline ones. The current crop has ~70% charge capacity even after 10 years and can be recharged 2000+ times. The latest version of alkaline batteries also has 10-12 years storage life with no *advertised* capacity guarantee.

Eneloop batteries supply only 1.2v compared to 1.5v of alkaline #batteries. So, they may not work for all situations.

Haben eine sehr schöne Spannungskurve, d.h. die Spannung fängt erst dann an abzufallen, wenn ihnen wirklich die Puste ausgeht und nicht schon bei 50% Ladung oder so. Der Abfall der Spannung ist gerade bei elektronischen Verbrauchern oft ein Problem, die in dieser Hinsicht keine große Toleranz haben.
