The thickness of the normal LV apex on echo is actually a slice thickness artefact. In reality, it’s extremely thin #echosky #pocusky

Good example that diastolic flattening is much more common than systolic in acute PE. #echosky #emimcc #pocusky

This is absolutely fascinating! I look forward to seeing well done randomised trials in man when the time comes (but no use until then). #echosky

Forward ejection fraction (LVOT derived stroke volume divided by end diastolic volume) is an interesting concept in mitral regurgitation. Conceptually, it's what the EF would be if it wasn't for the preload reduction from the MI. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC... #cardiosky #echosky

I’ll put my neck out here: I’m an avid venous doppler user, I find it immensely useful, especially when vena cava is unrelible. I never ever score VExUS though, I report individual components and my interpretation of them in the particular setting. #emimcc #pocus #echosky

For those using Chen’s single beat methods to estimate Ees, this is an important paper. Ees by Chen is likely more closely related to afterload than actual Emax and thus contractility. #echosky #emimcc #cccsky www.ahajournals.org/doi/full/10....
