'One was that they wanted an end to forever wars. They wanted an end to the taxpayer dollars we had funding violations of human rights," Mamdani said. "And they wanted to address the cost-of-living crisis'."
This phenomenon COULD be strategically significant for the DSA insurgency against the corporatist Democratic establishment, as long as DSA/PSL Democrats ACTUALLY HOLD TO their promises, and ideally start to deliver (i recognize that last part is difficult when you're a junior legislator swimming in a hostile caucus--as the Tea Party found out...until the Republican electorate went fascist and suddenly the party was theirs.)
But in principle, those voters Mamdani is referring to (who can probably be taken at their word--as opposed to more traditional MAGA voters who NEVER would have gone for him) ought to be PRETTY DAMN FED UP with #DonTheCon right now, after he launched #OperationEpicFail--the least successful (and totally unnecessary) forever war in history--doubled down on being #GenocidesBodyguards with our tax dollars, and gave so much money aware to his billionaire buddies that he's resurrected inflation from the grave for the first time in a generation.
Just #DontBeACon when you make your promises, and those voters could represent a 10% MAGA surge ADDED TO the Democratic BASE--which clearly cares about those issues even as the DNC establishment keeps up their Marie Antoinette impression.
