Con un primer plano que recuerda en su enfoque aerodinámico al de Abracadabra, comienza el video de Runway. El resto es otra vaina, una que deja la sobriedad para Ikea.

En una época que no está dejando bandas sonoras reseñables al margen de cuatro canciones que hacen mucho ruido pero que por eso no dejan de ser escasas, el tema de Doechii y Lady Gaga se presenta como un gran reclamo de El diablo viste de Prada 2.

Y nos recuerda porqué adoramos el pop.

El video es un delirio de excesos donde el drag, la moda y la horteridad (los trajes ceñidos con tachuelas y brillantes engastados) conviven en un espacio orgiástico donde todo género podría caber. También personas; porque esto es pop, y si vienes sin prejuicios a pasarla chévere esta pista es tuya.

Llama la atención lo bien aprovechado que está el espacio con ese fondo en código de barras (si usted es joven es el papá del QR) que ronea descaradamente con los distintos tiros de cámara, dando un dinamismo visual mucho mejor que el de los efectos especiales al uso. A veces no es tener más a tu alcance sino ser creativas.

Lo primero que suena es un fraseo incitándonos a contonearnos sin vergüenza. Luego empieza la música, muy ballroom, y Gaga canta sin timbre, como hará durante toda la canción, ofreciendo un color de voz mate. Doechii sirve el preestribillo (I can turn a dance floor into a runway) con unos yes que son la llave a un estribillo cuya contención lo es todo.

Gaga lo canta con un efecto en outro y Doechii responde, con la voz entre robotizada y espectral, aportando otra palabra gancho, en este caso una apropiada bitch. La siguiente será ok. Y habrá un pose y un sashay cargados de significado. Van ya tres ganchos en la letra y la música no para de sucederse, incluso con pequeños rapeados, así como una parte final más electrónica preciosa.

I'm pretty excited about Devil Wears Prada 2. The first #movie came out when I was working at a theater and had some shifts in projection (back in the film days).
