  3. Serious lens flare? Or halation?

    These are 3 images taken with my fancy, heavy, expensive Carl Zeiss #Distagon 35mm f/2 lens in quite challenging, high contrast situations (pretty much straight towards the hidden sun) on expired Fuji Superia XTRA 400 film. This is the only colour film I've used so far with this lens; the one black and white film was in dull conditions.

    Any ideas whether it's the lens or the film?
