I see myself sinking into an avoiding-social-interaction spiral, and I'm not having it. Stupid illness, stupid interruption to routines....hmph.
So here's a sort of summary of where we are:
- #LotR extended edition marathon on Saturday, I started stitching on Errol when they left Lothlorien and then ran out of energy at the end of Two Towers but progress is progress!
- First of my #EskarinaSocks has been about 2 rounds from completion for over a week now but again, no energy 😩
- Braved the cinema for husband's birthday, ended up telling off some loud women and now I feel extremely badass.
- Made #FantasyFootball playoffs, but then said husband knocked me out in the first round despite me having braved the cinema for him. The scoundrel.
- 4 weeks in and I'm still not breathing right. I wish I could hibernate for a month 😭

Keep meaning to join in with #MakersHour, but the one week I've finally remembered is the week that's been too busy to really make anything!
I am managing to get a few stitches in here and there on my Errol #CrossStitch so let's see if that counts or if they chuck me out of the hashtag for crimes against making 😅

Finished the 9 Economy quilt blocks for the PetitFour sew along. My hope is that when all the different blocks are combined into the quilt top that they create a magical swirl of movement. Crossing fingers! … Next up is to add sashing and corner stones to a baby quilt that is almost done. The closest magical element in that are the frogs wearing wizard hats. None of the usual mindless 4-row repeats I've been used to recently, this is chart central and changes things up every time I get into a rhythm. Loving it though, makes a nice change from my usual.
And the designer has kindly put a round of all knits in every now and then, just as a nice little reward. Thanks, Rachel Coopey!

Distracted tonight as we have a houseguest who hasn't particularly been enjoying the fireworks.
But I have managed a small amount of progress on both these projects, and will hopefully get a bit more sock ribbing done while we watch the #Packers ruin the Rams (cough cough 👀)

Cast on for my #EskarinaSocks (decided on the green yarn with no weird contrast bits, sue me).
Got the right number of stitches cast on FIRST TIME. Had a hairy moment where some stitches got dropped on the very first row, but managed to recover with NO DRAMA.
All seemed to be going suspiciously well.
Yeah, er, might have forgot to actually join in the round 🤦♀️

Um, has anyone ever bothered manually converting a decently large paper pattern into digital?
Was it worth the time you saved during actual stitching?
Because it seemed like a really good idea to give myself a Pattern Keeper version of Errol, but this much took me half an hour, so maybe not...

Happy weekend, everyone!
Been awake for maybe an hour, and I've already stabbed myself with an embroidery needle to the point of drawing blood.
Clearly need to let my hands wake up a bit more before starting any making along!

With the #DiscworldMAL kicking off tomorrow I've been trying to decide on a yarn for my planned Eskarina Socks.
One one hand, the stitch pattern will look great in a nice mostly-solid colour, and you all know I love green. Also that's Rachel Coopey's yarn brand, ie the designer of the actual sock pattern, which would be nice and tidy 😁
On the other hand, this weird and wonderful Noodle Soup yarn has all the shades from the description of octarine, so I can't think of much more suitable for Esk.
Naturally then, I've caked them both up and will see how I feel tomorrow 😅

Errol is here! And I managed to take a photo, with an actual real camera and everything!
Realising he needs way more colours than I actually own, and that's gonna have to be a "bit at a time" investment over the duration of the makealong because I am skint 😅
But he's cute, and I've got two strong contenders as far as fabric goes, so could be worse. Might need to manually make a Pattern Keeper version though, I don't fancy stitching from a paper pattern!

Myself and some friends from my crafty Discord are holding ourselves a “Discworld makealong”. And naturally we’d love to invite our friends in the Fediverse to join in too 🥳
No pressure. No deadlines. Just for fun. And any craft welcome!
So far knitting and cross stitch are well-represented but I’m sure we’ll pick up a few more along the way 😄
November 4th, through Hogswatch season, ending in the new year*. You’re very welcome to join in with your project at any point!.

(Oh and for those of you who have no idea what Discworld is or what I’m talking about, congratulations you’ve got 41 books to look forward to!)
*I suspect most projects will not actually be finished by then, because we’re slow and easily distracted. As demonstrated by me not posting about this until it’s a week away 🙃
