أصدرت توزيعة KaOS إصدارها الجديد 2026.06، والذي يمثل نقلة نوعية من خلال الانتقال الكامل إلى نظام Dinit بدلاً من systemd لإدارة بدء التشغيل. كما اعتمدت التوزيعة نواة Linux 7.0.13، وقدمت بيئة سطح المكتب Niri مع واجهة Noctalia كخيار افتراضي بدلاً من KDE Plasma، مع الحفاظ على تطبيقات Qt. تضمن التحديث أيضاً استخدام محمل الإقلاع Limine وتطوير مثبت Calamares لدعم Wayland، بالإضافة إلى تحديثات شاملة للحزم الأساسية لتعزيز استقرار وأداء النظام المستقل.

Ah, KaOS has released an RC of their distro that has a different, init system, dinit. The Niri+Noctalia Shell as the WM, which is actually very usable out the box (with graphical toggles for traditionally config file changes).
There are limited packages and that would pose some minor challenges, I would have to build/maintain certain programs and their dependencies. I am not yet ready for that kind of challenge, so I am going to keep looking at KaOS and build up my skill before deciding to try it out!
Now, KaOS does offer Flatpak support and that would shore up my available software...But most offerings are just wrappers rather than actual official ones in my case.

I have just published Dinit 0.22.0:
https://github.com/davmac314/dinit/releases/tag/v0.22.0I'm really hoping that this (really this time) be the final release before 1.0 (which likely will come after a few months testing and minor cleanups).
It's an exciting time in the world of Dinit, with several distributions newly offering or considering Dinit as service manager - including antiX and KaOS!

Chimera Linux does things differently: the distro is built from scratch, musl instead of glibc, init is dinit, FreeBSD userland, ...
Fresh install on my Thinkpad using OpenZFS and ZFSBootMenu. Curious to explore further. I'm thinking of a setup where Chimera is my desktop and FreeBSD on a home server.

Dinit 0.21.0 now out. https://github.com/davmac314/dinit/releases/tag/v0.21.0
This is the 10th beta release, which feels a bit ridiculous, but that's the price of quality! A few bugs came up since 0.20.0 that were (while rarely encountered) nasty enough to warrant an interim release, before 1.0. Which is planned (again) to be the next release, barring any further serious issues.
The focus now is really on testing and cleanup, so it's not impossible more bugs will be found - but hopefully there are none to find!

Me acabo de enterar que la distribución #KaOS está pensando abandonar #systemd por #dinit, por lo que ya no usa #KDEPlasma como entorno de escritorio sino que ahora usa #Niri. Que bueno que una distro ya consolidada quiera abandonar systemd a estas alturas. Veremos que pasa!!!

I think Chimera Linux is an intriguing mix of components: Linux kernel, FreeBSD userland, apk package manager, (non-systemd) dinit. I checked it out briefly last year. Now I want to take a second, closer look.
Installed Chimera Linux with Root-on-ZFS with ZFS native encryption and ZFSBootMenu as bootloader on a VM. Time to explore!

Пишу за весь час вже третій пост знайомства, бо вже третій раз мігрую з інстанцу на інстанц досліджуючи укрфеді :yellowHyhy:
Гадаю цей раз буде останній, бо @link залив емоути з моїм аватаром і як тут тепер не сидіти :cirno_yes:
А тепер перейдемо до самого знайомства :cirno_when:
З активної діяльності я займаюся тим що стримлю на :neobread_gamer: Twitch та сподіваюся колись зможу зібрати народ з твіча та ми проведемо етер на :peertube: peertube.in.ua
на якому будемо переглядати якісь серіали, фільми тощо...
На твічі я займаюся тим що балакаю з людьми на різні теми та граюся у грульки які мені подарували або які мені особисто цікаві :blobbee_gamer:
Не маю якоїсь технічної освіти... можна сказати що я потрошку десь розбираюся, але немає чогось у чому я б повноцінно шарив та був у цьому обізнаний :cirno_comfy:
Намагаюся просувати людям в інтернеті використання вільного програмного забезпечення та сам його використовую :yellowPray: Сиджу у DeltaChat/ArcaneChat, Stoat, mbin :cirno_chill:
Можна сказати я та сама людина що не проти приділити комусь час аби зібратися у Jitsy Meet та накатити :awatix: Artix Linux з dinit повністю з нуля :yellowHyhy:
Як ви могли зрозуміти я використовую #Artix Linux з ініціалізатором системи #dinit :yellowCool:
Мій аватар є :syrnyk: сирниковим arch linux besed фембоєм тобто це означає що по лору я сирникова маса яка на рівні бактерій використовує arch :cirno_heh:
Я б хотів би аби більше людей знали та використовували інші ініціалізатори системи :cirno_love:
Особисто для мене використання dinit розв'язало проблему з кривим запуском системи, пришвидшило її завантаження ну й зменшило використання оперативно пам'яті, бо SystemD сам по собі є потужним монолітним інструментом "все в одному" окрім ініціалізатора системи :neocat_systemd:

:yellowAndDono: Історія нашого зближення, а пізніше й кохання почалася з того як я на своєму стримі запропонував їй поставити Arch Linux :blobbee_heart_yellow:
Зараз ми живемо разом і я вже своїми руцями адмініструю її компик та допомагаю розв'язувати технічні негаразди :yellowBeeSmile: Люблю її :yellowHeart:
У минулому займався тим що перекладав аніме тому шарю за правильну систему транслітерації з японської за Коваленком та харюся коли хтось використовує поліванівку(руснява система транслітерації) :yellowKnife:
Мені не подобаються люди що захищають російську в Україні тож в питаннях мови я дуже радикальна людина. Я не маю бажання спілкуватися з вами якщо ви говорите що російська мова вашого дому або у вас в профілі стоїть що ви знаєте "ru" :neoraccoon_angry: Також мені не подобаються люди що грають у продукти такої студії як hoyoverse. Ви граєте в ігри від людей що платять руснявим банкам аби росіяни могли донатити у їхню гру через русняві сервіси такі як "ТінькофПей", "Мир"... це огидно... також розробники не проти потримати прапор совка
Мені подобається спілкуватися з новими людьми та дізнаватися щось нове що осяжне моїм розумом :yellowKhikhi: Подобається Цирно, бо вона бака:cirno_uwu:
:yellowCoffee2: Люблю молоти кавові зерна(бувають в край рідко, але бувають) та готувати кавусю
:cirno_vibe: З музики мені подобається джаз, jpop, інді роцк... подеколи щось зі скандинавськими вайбами... загалом усе по настрою :cirno_chill:

Завдяки #dinit на моєму YellowArtixPC в черговий раз не сталося некоректного першого запуску після вимкнення кампутера✌️
Я знаю що проблема у моєму старому залізі але все ж dinit знову врятував мій день та побачив що щось не так(все це розв'язується перезапуском компа)😁
SystemD до речі завжди мені запускав систему з купою багів та лагів й інколи доводилося потім щось фіксити...😕 Неприємно...😵💫
