  1. Stepped out for #dimsum lunch today. Such a treat to have a good spot nearby, especially given that a couple of long-running locations didn't make it through the COVID shutdowns.

Real comfort food, that. And being within walking distance makes it all the more luxurious.

  2. London restaurants open on New Year’s Day 2026

A two Michelin-star restaurant of near-unfathomable opulence, The Ritz is one of London’s most lavish restaurants, known for…

  3. @Starcade

Going to #Martinez for #DimSum this morning. A #FarmersMarket is also being held there today. ☺️

  4. #DimSum today at Dumpling King on Clement in San Francisco with @[email protected]! Delicious! The panda balls were my favorite, filled with a sweet custard cream. It was only 30 minutes away, plus 10 minutes to find parking. Need to do this more often.

Bigger is not necessarily better IMO when it comes to Chinese food.

In fact, in my experiences, there's generally a inverse relationship between the quality of the food & service as relates to the size of the restaurant, whether it serves Chinese food or not.

Don't think I'll ever go to eat at the newly opened HL Peninsula Restaurant in Castro Valley for this reason.

Early reviews on Google maps & Yelp seem to indicate that they are having a rough start & that it will take some time for them to get up to speed.

So, if you're interested, I wouldn't even consider dropping by for a least 6 months to a a year to give it a try, if they last that long. We'll see . . .

  8. For someone who struggles to make quick decisions between food that is presented to you (by someone on a #dimsum pushcart, no less), Cantonese afternoon tea (ie. "yum cha") could not be more stressful... Besides I'm kinda used to "one main meal + some sides" format, while dimsum is, by definition, sides-first...

Anyways, got brought to one yesterday (20 min line) by someone who loves going to (the Manhattan) Chinatown... Merging table with a western family that seemed even more confused...

  9. Sunday #dimsum

And a chance to break out some #Tea I was gifted some time ago. I don't drink and know too much about Chinese teas - but this 醇香 chún xiāng (fragrant) tea was really good! Reminded me of Assam tea

  10. Brrr, a chilly day, but we walked over for #dimsum and enjoyed that. Consistently good at that place (Merivale & Clyde).

They used to be a bit hit-and-miss, but since we moved closer to them, they seem to have improved their game. They clearly don't want to disappoint us.

  11. went to red maple to try their fish and got sucked in by the buy three get three free deal on #dimsum
