You will know by now how I believe in the power of #music to drive change. I just came across this video from #Minneapolis from yesterday, where 1,600 people sing an original composition as round singing, encouraging #ICE agents to put down their weapons. The organisers, #Singing #Resistance #TwinCities say they were inspired by the Otpor movement in Serbia, who were successful proponents of #dilemmaaction (a type of non-violent action), which everyone should learn about! https://commonslibrary.org/new-research-shows-the-power-of-putting-your-opponent-in-a-bind/

#Russia and #Ukraine are very much in the news, but we tend to forget about #humanrights defenders in #Belarus, where the #Lukashenko regime has been keeping #politicalprisoners for 30 years. I worked with #Viasna and Ales Bialiatski when I was at #AmnestyInternational. Ales had such humour and courage, understanding exactly how to use #dilemmaaction to drive change. He's been sentenced to 10 years last week. Let's not forget #Belarusians fighting for freedom.
