  1. Laws Every Scout Should Know

Being a Scout means more than camping, hiking, and earning merit badges. Scouts are also expected to be good citizens who understand the rules and laws that help keep our communities safe and fair. While Scouts are not expected to be lawyers, learning about important laws can help them become informed and responsible leaders. 1. The Scout Law and the Law of the Land The Scout Law teaches Scouts to be Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, […]

  8. I am back!!!
And I brought Jacqueline Jayne with me. 🤘✨

Make some noise for an awesome episode 🎉

After taking a brief pause, I’m back at full speed with my shows: Redefining #Society & #Technology on ITSPmagazine Podcasts — ready to bring you bold conversations that challenge assumptions and question the role of technology in our lives.

This is the first episode published for the 2025 season, but trust me, many more are already recorded and coming your way soon.

And we’re kicking things off with a big one.

🚨 Australia recently banned social media for kids under 16.
A bold move? Sure. A solution? Well, that’s where the debate begins.

In this episode of Redefining Society & Technology, I sit down with my Australian friend Jacqueline Jayne to break it all down. JJ is a cybersecurity and human risk expert, and she’s got some strong thoughts about why prohibition never works.

Let’s face it—does banning something ever actually solve the problem?

    We explore the unintended consequences:
⚠️ Will this really protect kids, or just push them to riskier online spaces?
⚠️ What about the communities that rely on #socialmedia for connection and support?
⚠️ Who’s actually responsible for educating kids (and adults) about online safety?

Technology moves fast, but knee-jerk policies don’t always keep up. Instead of banning, maybe it’s time we start educating.

Let’s rethink, redefine, and challenge the way we approach technology in society.

  9. When a parent decides to give their teenage child a smartphone (ideally as late as possible IMHO) I am convinced this book should accompany it. As someone that works in child internet safety, I am convinced this book will safe a teenager's life somewhere. Dr Susie Davies' valuable expertise is exactly what teenagers need to read, rather than the rubbish Musk and Zuckerberg will serve them.

On my shelf for too long, an argument against the permanence of the digital footprint, about the virtue of erasing our earlier selves, about forgetting the past. As we wrestle with our identities, morality, and online existence, this seems more than relevant!
