Oh! This is the tutorial I watched for #diamondpainting squares neater.
Very helpful! Especially the aim for the corner tip.
Only hint I probably won't follow is the light. Not a fan. XD

Hat irgendwer eine Idee, was man mit fertigen #DiamondPainting Bildern machen könnte?
Die Frau bastelt die gerne und dann liegen sie herum.

Does anyone know what you can do with "diamonds" from a diamond painting? I completed one and now i have 10+ packets of diamonds taking up a fuck ton of space on my table and i know for sure that they'll spill everywhere if i try to store them in a box or something

Recently Completed Diamond Painting!
#diamondpainting #diamondpaintingcomplete -
I've been doing a bit of #DiamondPainting lately. It's relaxing and fun. A few weeks ago, I played with using #Blender #GeometryNodes to generate diamond art from an image texture, but it really struggled to handle a large handful of these things (1000x1000 is a million diamonds, for tens of millions of triangles).
I realized today that I could use some UV manipulation and some generated textures to do it all using normal maps and displacement maps, and it would be the same resource demand regardless of the dimensions. So I set up a generating scene to make the maps for the drills (the little plastic beads) and got mapping the UVs.
Spent more time on this than I expected; probably about 3 hours. It was a fun exercise. I've included the blend files, and all textures except for the HDRI and table wood textures (which are both from Poly Haven).
Aside: I'm not really happy about the waste associated with diamond painting, and I probably won't do any more of it. There's just so many small plastics, with all the little bags, drills, and the pens. I don't feel like I can justify it. I might play with digital pixel art a bit to scratch the same itch. Maybe I'll finally start playing with #Tic80.

So I just started #diamondpainting and I feel like a lot of the kits offered on amazon use AI art, which honestly just creeps me out... does anybody know any brands or creators of kits that don't use AI art?

There's something being said for getting up really early: I'm already done with all my chores for the day. I'm off for a catch-up and a walk on the moors with my big sis later, but for now I'm sat with a cuppa and I'm about to work on this little fella for an hour or so. Isn't he just the cutest thing? :ablobcatheartsqueeze:

@archer Other than join servers you can just follow certain hashtags - that's what I do. I follow tags like #crossstitch #knitting and #diamondpainting. That helps a lot to connect to people with the same interests. Maybe even more than to join a certain server!

@thegiddystitcher @Chiarra @crafting_potato @makingthingswithstring @WhittierStitches @PixelatedChaos @BookwormBon @Knien @adiwolfie I'd like to add for all crafty people to add hashtags to their posts. I don't really follow any patricular people but I follow hashtags like #crossstitch #knitting #diamondpainting etc.
