For a couple of years, the Virus shawl was what every crocheter wanted to try - everyone who saw it said "I need to try that" and made one, and *their* friends saw it and... so it is Virus not only because the pattern replicates, but because it's contagious! This is in Red Heart Unforgettable, which was soft and had nice lengths of gradual color changes - decent as acrylic goes. #Fiberuary #crochet #DeliberateHoles

Perhaps the most obvious example of deliberate holes in #crochet is the granny square - for many people, the first thing they learn how to make after a starting chain. Here's a granny half-square triangle shawl - with armholes! This turns it into a shawl-vest (or shawl-waistcoat if you prefer) that stays on easier but covers less of tge shoulders. #DeliberateHoles #Fiberuary
