Google вбудували стеження за поведінкою користувача прямо у бравзер Chrome, цинічно називаючи це нововведення «Privacy Sandbox».

Chrome відтепер аналізує вашу поведінку і повідомляє про неї рекламодавців *самостійно*. Якщо раніше рекламодавці мусили використовувати різні механізми, щоб стежити за вами «зовні», то тепер безпосередньо сам Chrome надасть їм інформацію про вашу поведінку в Інтернеті, навіть якщо той чи інший рекламодавець не має можливості «засікти» її іншим чином.

Chrome буде аналізувати вашу вебісторію і зараховувати вас до певних категорій користувачів на її основі. Ця інформація буде доступною вебсайтам, які ви відвідуєте, і рекламодавцям.

Окрім того, навіть якщо автор/ка того чи іншого вебсайту не має наміру збирати про вас дані і продавати їх рекламодавцям, це все одно зробить Chrome.

Це фундаментальна зміна в ролі веббраузера, який, у випадку Chrome, більше не є «агентом користувача» (технічний термін, яким позначають бравзери у вебстандартах). Він є «агентом Google».

Ні Firefox, ні Safari такого не роблять, і до того ж суттєво обмежили рекламодавцям можливість стеження, чого не зробила Google (наприклад, вимкнувши третьосторонні «печенька»).

Google is using its exceptionally powerful position to make *the browser itself* analyze your browsing behavior and serve that on a plate in the form of "cohorts" to anyone interested.

They are transforming Chrome into a "browsing-history-passport" - right now.

If you care about your intellectual freedom even a little bit, you must put Chrome out of your life as soon as possible. Support others doing the same.

Apparently, #Google will stop using and investing in softwares to track people as they browse sites across #theInternet. Data that is supposedly worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

It feels good to live away from Windows machines. This is getting creepier every day.

Installing #Chrome also installs a side executable that can search the hard drive and remove programs it thinks might interfere with the browser.
