My basement #workshop is not connected to our central #heating system as at the point that got installed the old #wood #stove was still in use. Its now illegal as it does not comply with current emissions regulations. So we sold it to someone who uses it in a shed/construction trailer where the regulations don't apply (or they don't care). I would happily use wood scraps to heat the workshop but I will not pay 1000s for a new chimney that can handle the lower temperature of a newer, more efficient stove. So I burn the wood scraps in a camp fire. That overall situation is quite stupid. So I have a chimney
i can't use and I need a way to heat the workshop.
The chimney is now used as a way to extract laser cutter and 3d printer smells/fumes, so it does something useful.
As I don't want to just use an electric heater I run stuff that creates waste heat. Computers, 3d printer, and the new toy: a #dehydrator.
Dehydrator, 3d printer and computers get the room to cozy 22°C, so I will run them only as needed and still keep the room warm enough.
