Finished rewatching David Cronenberg’s 1981 classic, Scanners.
It took a while because the nights I was watching it, I kept falling asleep. So the next night I’d go back, rewatch the little bit before I zonked, then a bit more.
One thing I’m disappointed about, having written software for decades, everyone used to wear lab coats in CS settings. You don’t see that anymore. lol
Michael Ironside and Patrick McGoohan are the standouts in the movie.

Rewatched movie for #Decinema
Looper
What a great film. It’s great to see Bruce Willis at the top of his form. And I loved Emily Blunt’s character. And the kid was fantastic.
It’s a sci-fi movie that will stand the test of time, which makes me happy.

Watched a new (to me) movie for #Decinema
Assault on Precinct 13
This was a great John Carpenter throwback. It wasn’t as sophisticated as modern movies, but the plot held up and seemed appropriate for the times. And while there was the opportunity for racial tension, it never materialized, which was great.
None of the actors went on to do too much. But the story is still great.

💡 Good One offers a subtle and nuanced take on gender dynamics and personal observation—perfectly aligning with the missions of the participating collectives. The post-screening discussion will explore feminist solidarity, the role of art and film in social change, and how we can better amplify women’s voices in cinema and beyond.
A huge thank you to De Cinema and Joyce Palmers for this invitation!#GoodOne #SpotlightOnWomxnDirectors #StudioSarab #DeCinema #FeministFilm #WomenInFilm
