I saw a woman with a child at the store this afternoon. I think they were Ukrainian refugees. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but also don't want to ignore what's going on. She was on a video call, speaking what I think is Ukrainian, and I caught a glimpse of the phone - I saw a tired looking man in a dark room (it would have been about 10PM in Ukraine).
I know that many Ukrainian women have taken their children out of the country for safety while the men remained to deal with the invasion. I've met one of these families in my neighborhood.
