Getting pretty sick of DDSS now, everything turns out to be a chore there. A new thing? Sure, gotta add 10 more carpenters just to be able to autocraft that new thing. It's not automating something new, it's just adding more and more of the same. Add to this the fact that the modpack is already fairly laggy and bloaty, all those extra machines really don't help there.

So now I'm trying out Valhelsia with a buddy. A 1.14.4 modpack which seems to be lacking a few mods still. We might've found piping for item transport, but we're still trying to figure out how to do cabling for energy and piping for fluids. I suspect they really wanted to include something like EnderIO but I don't think that's available yet for 1.14.4. So that's going to be interesting to play with a gimped modpack.

Fun, Underground Biomes mod has shittily coded overlays so that iron ore is not even visible on a red granite block. Our solution? Modify iron.png to show 'iron' in blue lettering over the existing image. Never noticed it before since I dug up plenty other blocks than red granite, but now I see iron ore everywhere in red granite areas I passed! #Minecraft #DDSS

Holy fucking shit. Okay, Mekanism's Logistical Sorter is easy to use and compact. But ye gods, the amount of CPU power it takes is so ungodly that it lags the whole server down. Well, not as bad as Botania's Crafty Crate, but still, it uses a bit too much CPU for that little bit of work. On the other hand, Integrated Dynamics' network with variables and shit, complex stuff we have to figure out still, is ungodly efficient. This is going to take some figuring out. #Minecraft #DDSS

Minecraft = A shitton of maths. Found out that the Tinker Tank is actually inefficient as fuck. At best like 4 buckets per tank volume and the bigger the tank the less it holds per taken space. It's best to move over to something else like Mekanism tanks which holds a linear 64 buckets per volume.

The only advantage of a Tinker Tank is that it can hold multiple liquids at once, so I'll keep one just for that. But want to mass-store lava? Mek tank it is. #Minecraft #DDSS

I'm amused at the attention to detail in this modpack. I've got 2 tanks on top of each other, forming one long tank, and it's filled 1/4 with methane gas. And it's the upper half that's getting filled because, gas. #Minecraft #DDSS
