Happy Day Of Goodwill, South Africa: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_Day#Day_of_Goodwill
Most of the rest of the world call it Boxing Day. And we did too, pre-1994. But now we call it the Day of Goodwill instead, for reasons: I think we just wanted to get away from the negative connotations around the term "boxing day". That is, the whole idea that people have servants who they force to work on Christmas, but whom they in their magnanimity allow to take the day after off, boxing up food for them to take home to their families. "Yes, Massah! You're so kind, Massah! How very gracious of you, Massah!"
Most everyday South Africans still call it Boxing Day, though. :-D

Today is the #DayOfGoodwill. Called #BoxingDay is most other countries that celebrate it, the South African government renamed it when they re-did all the public holidays shortly after coming into power in 1994.
Whatever you call it, the idea is that you show a little bit of that goodwill to your fellow human beings today. "Peace on Earth and Goodwill to everyone," as the angels said.
Oh, yes, it's also the Second Day of #Christmas (there are 12, if you'll remember). :-)

Happy Second Day of #Christmas, everyone. As you wake up this morning, possibly with hair on your tongue and a construction crew working overtime on your head (hopefully not, but no judgement), may you continue to carry the joy, peace, love, and hope of yesterday in your hearts.
It's also the #DayOfGoodwill in #SouthAfrica; we don't call it #BoxingDay here, although I think we used to, pre-1994. Either way, it's still a #PublicHoliday, so if you're lucky enough to be taking it off, have a blessed one! ❤
