SolarWinds CISO says the intrusion probably came in via Microsoft O365. Lack of logs on E3 license would make it hard to notice even if you went looking. Auth mechanisms then were less mature than now. I would be considerably harsher on the trillionaire-dollar global company that it's trying to force everyone to online subscriptions and AI and insane stuff like Recall. #CyberCon

The talk from Annabelle Harrison about cyber safety for abuse victims was really refreshing as what's the best practises for that environment might not seems correct. E.g. writing down passwords could be the best way of securing a passwords while allowing unique passwords for each service. #cybercon

The people here at #cybercon (when they're not trying to sell you something) have been really nice. Lots of cyber veterans with interesting stories and the presence and support for females has been really noticeable. I was even congratulated for being a girl in cyber which was really affirming.

And the big vendors seem to be all about making things more convoluted. Like there is a company here selling what is effectively a web frontend to Microsoft's security products to make them more manageable. #cybercon

The cyber industry feels really bloated right now. Everyone and their dog has an XDR solution with all the bells and whistles which will solve all your cyber security problems (and you do have cyber security problems). I wonder how long the bubble will last?

23-25 квітня в ОАЕ проходила конференція GISEC Global з кібербезпеки, в рамках якої пройшли змагання GISEC Cyberdrill, у яких взяли участь 109 країн світу.
Змагання тривали протягом 3 днів і щойно закінчилися. Завдання були розбиті на різні категорії: Threat Hunting, Reverse Engineering, OSINT та інші.
Україна увійшла в ТОП-10. Перше місце зайняла команда Албанії. Та найбільше мене вразили казахи, які зайняли 3-е місце. Я за ними спостерігаю, і можу сказати, що вони зробили колосальний прорив.
Мені подобається саме те з яким ГОЛОДОМ та ЖАГОЮ казахи досліджують і практикують кібербезпеку. Вони роблять акцент не на тому "як заробити побільше бабла і набити ними кишені", а на розвиток Community, на появу нового і шанування старого покоління. І головне: вони не боялися ПУБЛІЧНО тикати носом своїм чиновникам на вразливості, чим по суті нормально підняли кібербезпеку в країні! Спочатку їх також пробували ігнорувати, але коли вони почали тупо публікувати вразливості в соцмережах, то чиновники тут же почали їх поважати і з ними співпрацювати! Таким чином, Казахстан зараз є одним з найзахищеніших. Зараз там чимало серйозних пентестерських Red Team команд, з яких дійсно варто брати приклад. Їх команди регулярно виступають і займають топові місця на різних кіберконференціях. Феномен полягає ще в тому, що там з однієї команди через 1-2 роки підростає ще 2-3 нових команд. Тобто, фактично кібербезпека стає культовою.
І останнє: хакерське ком'юніті Казахстану активно підтримує ІТ-армію України. Рекомендую для загального розвитку глянути інтерв'ю з казахським хакером: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9YABcoyHwk

Таким чином відбувається природна розбудова ЕКОСИСТЕМИ. А головне: вони не боялися ПУБЛІЧНО "тикати носом" своїм чиновникам на вразливості, чим по суті нормально підняли кібербезпеку в країні. Спочатку їх теж пробували футболити, але коли вони почали публікувати вразливості в соцмережах, то чиновники зрозуміли, що "запахло жареним" і тут же почали співпрацювати! Таким чином, Казахстан став одним з найзахищеніших у плані кіберзахисту. Там працює національне бюро BugBounty. Країна за 5 років піднялася в Global Cybersecurity Index з 118 на 31 місце (https://nonews.co/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/GCI2020.pdf). У нас же часто деякі "хакери" люблять співати і танцювати під дудочку влади, яка погано розуміється на кібербезпеці ("Роль кібербезпеки перебільшена" ©). Україна перебуває на 78 місці в глобальному рейтингу кібербезпеки.
Зараз в Казахстані чимало солідних пентестерських Red Team команд, з яких дійсно варто брати приклад. Їх команди регулярно виступають і займають топові місця на різних кіберконференціях. Феномен полягає ще в тому, що там з однієї команди через 1-2 роки підростає ще 2-3 нових команд PRO-рівня. Тобто, фактично кібербезпека стає поширеним явищем. Казахстан може стати кузнею хакерів.
