Last was the second day of @cui 2023. This was an interesting watch because so much effort here is devoted to psychological tricks to convince people that CUIs are trustworthy, with only a few talks truly interrogating the problematic nature of that development track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMi_qRxFhGw (5/5) #CUI2023 #LLMs

The gradient of generative AI release: important #facct paper by @irenesolaiman https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3593013.3593981
(we came across it while finishing the proofs for our #cui2023 paper on a related topic — just in time to include it)

The #ACM conference on #ConversationalUserInterfaces (#CUI2023) call for *provocation* papers is out!
"Provocations at CUI are original and unpublished contributions from a broad range of disciplines, including human-computer interaction, computer science, engineering, speech technology, linguistics, psychology, cognitive sciences, sociology and other cognate disciplines. A provocation should discuss or communicate a thought-provoking idea or proposal that can be made in a few pages. The contribution should have the potential to spark debate and discussion at the conference. We encourage out-of-the-box or even controversial ideas to be proposed through provocation."
Deadline is 17 April, conference is in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, 19-21 July.
