#Crassula tecta ist eine klein bleibende #sukkulente #Pflanze aus der kleinen @Karoo im südlichen #Afrika.
Sie erträgt viel Sonne, wächst sehr langsam und überrascht im Winterhalbjahr mit ihren kleinen Blüten.
Tecta bedeutet Dach. Die Blätter liegen wie Dachziegel dicht übereinander.

Indoor rack has reached its final form (probably)
I upgraded the middle shelf to 65W Brim Panel As. The top shelf is already 65W, and the bottom shelf has plants like haworthias that don’t like too much light, so it will stay on 45W.
All of the panels stronger than 65W that I’ve seen have the LED driver stuck to the top of the panel, so I wouldn’t be able to fit them in here like this.
Thus: final form achieved

I forgot to share this from my Nagano trip.
I wasn’t going to buy anything during the cycling part of my tour, but at Kingyokuen in Komoro I had an idea:
1. Pick a plant small enough to fit into a plastic bottle
2. Cut bottle in two
3. Stuff plant in base
4. Cover top with tissue paper
5. Put bottle top back on
6. Put bottle into sleeve on cycling backpack, etc.Voilà! Sturdy armor that kept this one safe until I got it home 😊

Went to the ISIJ cactus and succulent show at the Ōfuna Flower Center today! My haul:
Euphorbia horrida. The staff at the show pointed out that the tag is ambiguous as to whether this one is variegated or merely a pup from a variegated parent. We agreed that it was a nice specimen either way!
Crassula “Yumechigo” (夢稚児). I love these white, chubby tower crassulas. I think it’s a hybrid of C. deceptor (稚児姿) and C. cornuta (夢殿), hence the Japanese name.

The world is a busy place, so it's nice to get some rest once in a while, like this little crassula ovata plant being, enjoying a bath. :ablobcool:
Inspired by real events, although I have no insight into how much the real sapling enjoys its stay. :bunhdlurk: (I suppose it would prefer not to be on a water based diet, but the rest of the plant was beyond saving and it needs roots.)

First attempt at making something bonsai-esque out of a #Crassula ovata ‘Monstruosa’ (AKA ‘Gollum’).
This is truly an unneedy plant. The stone is sitting on the bottom of the #bonsai pot, leaving almost no room for soil.
The plant is growing from a single leaf that fell from the mother plant and took roots.

Big potting day today trying to get 14 plants (2 cuttings went to a friend) potted, photographed, tidy up, get frost cloth off etc.
I’m going big this week and next with ones I’ve really wanted before the money runs out and I’m out of space. It’s going to be tough to ignore the weekly sales going forward but I’m going to have to if I’m going to survive financially.
Next week will likely be my last plant mail post for a while. I’ll just have to post pics of the ones that are catching my eye instead! I’m waiting (impatiently) for my zygocactus to flower (only buds so far) so I’ll definitely be sharing when that happens!

Yesterday's meeting of my orchid society was especially good and not just because one of my plants won a ribbon (see previous post) and we discussed the upcoming show. I got a #Dracunculus vulgaris and a #Pinguicula esseriana from one of my main plant swapping buddies; I got a starter colony of #Blaptica #dubia #roaches from another member; I picked up a #Crassula ovata, #Pachyphytum oviferum, and some sort of small #Haworthia from other members; and I sold an old glazed ceramic orchid pot.
