Looks like the USPS shut down the covidtests.gov at 8:00 PM EDT on 3/9/2025, per text on the website.
I'm feeling somewhat fortunate in that I got my order placed and received in the last couple weeks.
If they had too many tests stockpiled, better management and allowing people to order additional test kits seems like a better choice than destroying good tests.

Discovered 4 #covid expired test kits today, and had to throw them out. Thankfully, I still had 2 kits (4 tests) that are not expired according to the FDA’s website. Been thankful for the free kits but am sure that’s ending and wonder if the new administration will upkeep info like the FDA’s test kit expiration date webpages. #covidTests
Had to use a test today. Thankfully, it’s negative, but I’m staying away from people. I am thankful I had the free test & my symptoms are mild right now. 🙏🏽

Manchmal habe ich ohnehin den Eindruck, die Tests kämen alle aus einer Handvoll Fabriken und die ganzen Marken wären nur unterschiedliche Verpackungen der Vermarkter 🤔

#COVIDtests arrived today that I ordered couple weeks back. Must be old stock - 2024-01 expiry, but extended dates via an online PDF to end of 2025-01.
3.5 fresh months on these, whoop-dee-doo thank you. I do need to schedule/find vaccinations too.

Most of the tests will expire within several months.
“We're getting to tests probably that we've had in inventory longer because, as we were purchasing, we had a spike in receiving and now we're not purchasing as much.”
They also waited until the fall because they expect more cases at this time, completely ignoring the summer surge.

Please consider getting these to use before & after large gatherings, and even if you don't want them for yourself, having them on hand for other people to use is super helpful, since outside of this, we're often stuck having to get these from price-gouging pharmacies.

CW: Covid, Lucira tests, a follow-up rant/asking for advice
Posting again about my issues with #Lucira #covid19 tests. I have taken three tests today, only have one left, and two of them have just given me the "all lights flashing, inconclusive" result. I'm hoping test three gives an actual result, but is anyone else getting these issues with Lucira? Is there a way to avoid them? For context, the expiration date on these is October 22, 2023, so in theory they should be working, but it is getting expensive, time consuming and extremely frustrating to have to take multiple tests to try to get an accurate result.
I'm thinking it's time for me to suck it up and get the Metrix #covid tests, but they're so very, very expensive! But on the other hand, today I essentially just spent $60 on useless Lucira tests, so...

CW: Covid, Lucira, a bit of a rant
Is anyone else who's #CovidCautious noticing the quality of #Lucira #covid19 tests seems to be...lacking? I assume their results still very accurate, but anytime I take one, it almost always gives the "inconclusive" result, so I have to take another one, and I end up having to wait over an hour to figure out if it's safe for me to see high risk friends or not while also more quickly using up my dwindling supply.
I'm also noticing that many boxes seem to have pieces missing, usually the nasal swabs, so I end up using a swab from some rapid antigen tests that are about to expire, and I'm not sure if that impacts the quality of the result or not.
Is this happening because the only Lucira tests left are close to their expiration dates? Is it because they're likely from when Lucira was going bankrupt? Has anyone else noticed this? And does anyone know if Pfizer has any plans to make these tests available again in the future?
