A little while ago, cosmonauts Sergey Kud‑Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev and astronaut Chris Williams returned to Earth on the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft, which landed in Kazakhstan. They had reached the International Space Station on November 27, 2025, as part of a normal crew rotation.

A few hours ago, the Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, and, after a little more than three hours, reached the International Space Station with three new crew members on board. It docked with the Station's Prichal module. The ultra-fast track was used, which halves the journey duration and is used whenever the Station's position makes it possible.

  3. 💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: 🚀🔧 Four #astronauts sheltered inside their #CrewDragon Friday after air leaks in a Russian station module suddenly worsened.

#Cosmonauts patched one crack while crewmates waited in the “safe haven,” a lifeboat-ready procedure for rapid evacuation. The alert lifted, but the aging station’s stubborn structural cracks remain unfixed.

SpaceX's Crew Dragon Freedom spacecraft docked with the Harmony module of the International Space Station, completing the first part of its Crew-12 mission that began with its launch about 34 hours earlier. Andrey Fedyaev, Jack Hathaway, Jessica Meir, and Sophie Adenot join the Expedition 74 crew.

A little while ago, SpaceX's Crew Dragon Freedom spacecraft blasted off atop a Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in its Crew-12 or SpaceX Crew-12 mission. After almost exactly ten minutes, it successfully separated from the rocket's last stage and went en route to carry out its mission.

A little while ago, SpaceX's Crew Dragon Endeavour spacecraft completed its Crew-11, or SpaceX Crew-11, mission for NASA with a successful splashdown. Aboard were astronauts Zena Cardman, Michael Fincke, and Kimiya Yui, and cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, who had arrived at the International Space Station on August 2, 2025, as part of Expedition 73/74.

A few hours ago, cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky and astronaut Jonny Kim returned to Earth on the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft, which landed in Kazakhstan. They had reached the International Space Station on April 8, 2025, as part of a normal crew rotation. The capsule landed on its side, an event that can occur due to reentry conditions, but the crew members suffered no injuries.

  10. #Cosmonauts tauchte zum ersten Mal im Protokoll der 190. Sitzung des 20. Deutschen Bundestages am 09.10.2024 auf. Das Protokoll findet sich unter dserver.bundestag.de/btp/20/20

  11. It's interesting to compare this to Mir in the excellent book "Dragonfly" by Bryan Burroughs. By this account, it was then falling apart in dozens of ways, and was perhaps even a deathtrap. But the cosmonauts soldiered through, with grit, humor, and determination, in a way I have to admire greatly. It's a cautionary tale for ISS.

  12. While I hate seeing it just dumped into an ocean, the International Space Station is showing its age, and as it does, becomes more dangerous. I wish I could be parked in some higher orbit, for possible future salvage, or at least as a historical artifact, but there are technical reasons why this would be difficult, and maybe even impractical.

A little while ago, cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub and astronaut Tracy Caldwell-Dyson returned to Earth on the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, which landed in Kazakhstan. Kononenko and Chub completed a one-year mission on the International Space Station while Caldwell-Dyson spent almost exactly 6 months on the Station.

The Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft blasted off atop a Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan with three people. After about nine minutes it successfully separated from the rocket's last stage and was placed on its route to the International Space Station, which requires about two days of journey.

  16. Cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko has set a new world record for the most time spent in space. Surpassing the previous record held by Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka, Kononenko achieved this milestone during his fifth space flight.

Kononenko surpassed the achievement of Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka who spent 878 days, 11 hours, 29 minutes and 48 seconds in space throughout five missions (1998-2015).

  17. Two cosmonauts onboard the International Space Station recently experienced a spacewalk they may never forget. While examining the site of a leak, they encountered a “blob” of deadly ammonia coolant. Futurism has more, including what forced one cosmonaut to disconnect his tether that attached him to the station. flip.it/5Q_ot3

  18. Imagine being stuck in space for a year, after your space craft goes through something out of a Sandra Bollocks film, and after you finally make it back to Earth, the next place they bring you is: Glasgow.

  19. Interesting feature: the #Cosmonaut polynya remains active and persistent.

I just learned from #Wikipedia that the name #Cosmonauts Sea (30° – 50°E) was just a proposed sea name and is not accepted by the International Hydrographic Organization or any other organization.
