A rare return to how it looked when the Kalapuya natives called this land home.
My own home is on an isolated ox-bow bend between the park and the river.

The running joke among software developers in this semi-rural part of the #PNW #Corvallis is that trying to find even an okay paying tech job, whether with your newly earned CS degree or just your high school diploma + some years of programming/coding experience is like trying to find a needle in a haystack the size of the Willamette Valley where Corvallis is nestled in.
There are literally like around four software companies within a 40 or 45 mile radius of Corvallis. I am not including #Eugene in that focal point since that area south of us is the cultural anomaly in Oregon. For a school of higher learning such as OSU, with its above-average #ComputerScience courses, it's nothing short of a stark, unfortunate truth that men (and women programmers, too) around here are basically out of luck when they are trying to find work after graduating.
Now, of course, all of the small and medium sized companies around here have their tiny I.T. departments but that pales in comparison to the benefits and pay packages people can receive working in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR.
No really, I want to both think for a living and also have a good life while doing the things that I enjoy doing. I don't want to work in Portland's uptight and highly concentrated workforce.
