Update: IT’S ALIVE!
I re-did some of the caps, did a thorough inspection, and found a broken trace where there had been some heavy corrosion. It was a tiny gap by the leg of one of the chips, so I bridged it with some solder, and it works!

It works…! Sort of! It started to load extensions, then went into a weird crashed state. When I powered off, it refused to chime the next time.
I know it’s my capacitor work, because the replacement Color Classic II board I still boots fine. Oh well… I’ll try again in a little bit.

Capacitor detritus, and the pads all cleaned up. I feel like I’m coated in that gross fishy burning electrolyte smell, and no amount of showering will wash it off… ugh.

Tried to recap this Macintosh Color Classic logic board. The seller sold it as working, and claims it booted when he last tried in January. It never worked once for me, and it’s easy to see why: corrosion and leaky caps everywhere.
It’s a good thing the battery didn’t leak, though, since that was left in when I got it, too, probably since the 90’s.
