I thought this game would be short. Turns out I’m maybe about halfway through, based on the achievements.
I also thought it’s a chill little story with great music. It’s actually a lot more than that. The story keeps getting darker and more mysterious.
I’m so glad I started playing it! -

A new game, which I found last autumn. Cloudpunk. You’re a delivery driver in a cyberpunk sort of looking world. Where everyone and everything looks like they’re built with Lego blocks. Not sure what to make of it yet, it’s all a bit mysterious. -

@hellomiakoda I could see this on the game-that-probably-wont-happen: Nivalis. It was supposed to be a slice of life cyberpunk SIMs kind of game, not sure if MMO or not. I liked #Cloudpunk so I was hoping it would release, but they've gone awfully quiet.

I've been playing a game called #Cloudpunk lately. Driving around in the cyberpunk-esque city of Nivalis has been a lot of fun!

I really don't understand why I'm finding #Cloudpunk so compelling. The writing and voice acting is pretty mid. It's entire mechanic is basically fetch quests. The environment can feel a little repetitive. And yet, hopping in my HOVA and flying around Nivalis, or popping out and hunting for punch cards, is somehow so chill and satisfying. Maybe it's the cool visuals or the synthwave soundtrack... I dunno. It's a pleasant mystery to me. And did I mention it plays great on the #SteamDeck? #gaming

Okay. Maybe it's not Firefox. Maybe Cloudpunk is just weirdly intermittent in what framerate it runs at.
Two runs with Firefox: Slow and chuggy.
Run without Firefox: Slow and chuggy.
Quit Steam and run again: Fractionally less slow.
Quit Steam. Start Steam. Run from within steam. 60fps!
Continue playing. Go through a few areas: Suddenly drops to 20fps.Oh, and yesterday, the map was lightning fast, whereas before it was always slow (even when the main game was fast)

Huh. I was getting 25-40fps in Cloudpunk. But I seem to have found that if I close Firefox while I game (which has Tumblr and Nextcloud open but nothing actively playing) then I'm getting around 60fps on medium settings!
I wonder what's interfering 🤔

You ever played through a game and it's final message and cutscene was so well written that it actually makes you suicidal? Like, I have no other way to describe Cloudpunk, other than that.
Story time. I got my (driver's) license, specifically, for work. Not driving to work, for work. Actually, I wasn't even on my own insurance, nor did I have my own vehicle. I later changed which (unnamed) gig-work provider I was claiming my table scraps from, and they required proof of insurance. I had my own car at that time under my parent's insurance, but this needed me on my own policy. Then came Amazon. Then came being a glorified rail-industry taxi. Point being, "delivery driver" is me to a T. I don't just empathize with Rania, I damn near am Rania. That story has been my entire life. I'm, actually tested, #AuDHD. Do you have any clue how real-to-life that game's story actually is?

Cloudpunk terminado. Es una novela visual.
El argumento es sencillo: trabajamos para una empresa de mensajería, para la cual debemos llevar paquetes de un lado a otro.
El mundo es tipo Blade Runner, con robots, coches voladores, inteligencia artificial...
El desarrollo del juego es muy sencillo. Únicamente hay que llevar paquetes de un lado a otro, hablar con gente, tomar alguna decisión (solo se toman 4 o 5 en todo el juego)... está muy guiado.
En Switch el rendimiento es regular. Pantallas de carga largas, popping, me ha sacado del juego 4 o 5 veces (menos mal que guarda la partida al acabar cada misión...).
El peso del juego es la historia que se va desarrollando, la cual está bien. Con toques dramáticos.

Que juego hermoso, si pueden dediquen el par de horas que lleva terminar la historia para jugarlo.

Llevo unas 5 horas con el juego Cloudpunk, en Switch.
El rendimiento es bastante inferior a como rinde en cualquier otra plataforma.
Se nota sobre todo en el popping que tiene, disimulado con el clásico efecto niebla... mientras que en otras plataformas muestra todo hasta el horizonte.
En cuanto al juego, está bien. Es sencillo de jugar (siguiendo órdenes de llevar de un sitio a otro paquetes), pero lo que importa es la historia que cuentan los personajes.

Schöne Story, schräge Charaktere und cooler Artstyle! So kann auch ein Walking- oder Aircar-Simulator Spaß machen! 👍

I played #MirrorsEdge through and that's great on any system. Had to install in desktop mode and turn off PhysX.
#Dirt3 was marked incompatible but I played it through without issue.
#MyFriendPedro was a game that I'd left on PC but picked up again on the Deck since it was a very fitting small/quick game.
Most recent playthroughs were #Cloudpunk and #Control (Cloudpunk DLC still pending), enjoyed both a ton.
I just started #HorizonZeroDawn, looking forward to progressing in it.
