Why Data Cleanup Matters Before RISE
SAP's vision is to help its existing ECC customer base move confidently to S/4HANA via RISE with SAP a managed cloud offering that bundles the S/4HANA licence, infrastructure, and support into a single subscription. A core input to that subscription is the sizing of the target HANA database which is calculated in part from the volume of data being migrated.

Because RISE is a capacity-based commercial model, bloated ECC landscapes that carry years of transactional history obsolete change documents, and unarchived spool objects translate directly into a larger HANA footprint and, consequently a higher recurring fee.
