  6. I am happy announce that our manuscript preprint from my PhD work at @kofanchen lab is now available.

    My research (and this manuscript) focuses on investigating the role oculocutaneous albinism-associated genes in regulating sleep and circadian rhythm. I am further focusing on one of the genes reported here (lovit), and how it regulates sleep. Another interesting manuscript to follow soon.

  10. Turns out that day-calling #crickets (as opposed to night-calling species) tune their #chirps to avoid the same #bandwidth as other nosy #insects (like #cicadas). We know #birds do this type of thing ("#acoustic #niche partitioning"). Interesting to see it in insects.
